Nobody knows.

Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Rotoworld Football Show. The regular season is no longer nigh, Denny. That's because it's here.

I love when things go from being nigh to actually here. We have actual games, actual new data points coming in, actual previews. Denny and I are going to talk about the Patriots' visit to the defending Super Bowl champion, Seahawks' house, and then the Rams and 49ers going to Australia. So many fantasy relevant storylines in these games. So many big players. We'll break them all down. And then after that, we are really pleased to welcome in a very special guest, a former NBC Rotoworld employee, now Yahoo's own Hayden Winks. And he's going to talk to Denny and I about that exact thing I mentioned in the open. What new data points we're most excited to finally get. As in we've been arguing about Basial Tooten all summer. Let's see what actually happens in that Jaguars backfield. All that and more when we come right back after this.

We're back. Anyway, we have so many big storylines, so many big names to get to, but we kind of had to stop the presses. Because the Steelers offense, not when we were super high on this summer, but a lot of fantasy relevant players. I think we just kind of punted on talking about it. We're like, I don't know how this is going to happen, unfold between DK Mecha, Michael Pittman Jr., Jeremy, otherwise known as Gurmi, Bernard, Pat Friermuth, Gillian Warren, things of that nature. A lot of interesting fantasy relevant guys there, but I didn't know how to make heads or tails of it. That is until we got a report earlier this week. I think we know who the clear cut number one weapon is now. What story am I referring to and how might it affect the Steelers offense?

Denny Carter (1:57)

Yeah. Look, the Athletic led us in on a little secret, which is that Aaron Rodgers talks with DK Metcalf frequently. That's good.

Pat Daugherty (2:06)

About normal stuff, right? About their families.

Denny Carter (2:11)

Only about ball, except for when they talk about Antarctica.

Pat Daugherty (2:16)

Don't like where this is going?

Denny Carter (2:18)

Yeah. Here's what DK Metcalf told the Athletic.

These are quotes. I know it sounds like a bit, but these are quotes.

Pat Daugherty (2:26)

For the record, I know some of you have seen Galaxy Brains. These are real.

Denny Carter (2:29)

Yeah. No, right.

It's not a joke. All right. So the story says this. DK Metcalf wants to know what is really going on in Antarctica. That is, what's really going on in Antarctica. Quote, I think it's another world, Metcalf says. What do you mean another world? The reporter asked. I think there is another civilization inside the earth, he says.

Pat Daugherty (2:53)

Later on, I think the Disney Frozen people live there.

Denny Carter (2:56)

Well, there's a yeah, I mean, lots of fictional stories based on that theory over the years.

He says, yeah, I'm a big conspiracy theorist. Shout out to my quarterback. Wow. You know, and I think, you know, this is actionable, like you said, because it means that our guys, DK and Aaron, they're they're chatting it up. You know, they're they're talking about important stuff, like whether Antarctica exists. He also asked this. He also asked this important question. He only asked some questions, but he said, why isn't anyone allowed to go to Antarctica? I did a quick little search online and I found that you can go anytime you want, which is a pretty pretty amazing thing.

Pat Daugherty (3:34)

It is. You can take cruises there, actually. It's rather astounding. We're probably be spoiling one of the last untouched pure places on this earth. But listen, whatever it takes, it's kind of my my view on this, Denny. Some some quarterbacks and the receivers, they get breakfast. That's what Matthew Stafford does. Yeah, some of them have people move into their homes. That's what Tom Brady did with Antonio Brown. That worked really well, by the way.

Denny Carter (3:56)

Yeah, for a couple of games.

Pat Daugherty (3:57)

No, it didn't work at all. Most quarterbacks just relentlessly get in offseason reps.

Some of them talk about what happens at the Denver Airport. Like why? What is the Denver Airport for? Why do they build all these bunkers? How come it's just out in the middle of a field in Denver? So on and so forth. Whatever it takes to get the connection more pure, the timing more precise, we are here for it.

Sure, DK's family is absolutely just loving the quarterback, feeding him, by his own words, conspiracy.
