This episode is brought to you by Wayfair. Home should be a place that feels like a sanctuary, a space that truly reflects who you are, but it can be challenging to balance style, budget, and endless options. I was looking to create a dedicated calm space for my morning meditation and reading, but I was struggling to find pieces that felt grounding, but could also stand up to daily use. I went on Wayfair and found a beautiful, solid wood accent chair and a bookshelf. Now that corner is my favorite place to anchor my day. The quality is incredible, it's built to last, and it completely shifted the energy of the room. And we didn't get to introduce Kai.

**Paris Jackson** (2:19)
Oh yeah, he's napping right now.

**Jay Shetty** (2:21)
And you have more animals, you said?

**Paris Jackson** (2:22)
I have five right now. Who are the others? I have three cats and I have another dog.

**Jay Shetty** (2:26)
What are their names?

**Paris Jackson** (2:28)
Kavi is the main coon and then the other two cats are Kanan and Cairo. And then I have, this is Kai and then my other dog is Koa.

**Jay Shetty** (2:36)
What's the addiction to K?

**Paris Jackson** (2:38)
Well, I go by PK and the K has been one of my favorite parts of my name. I'm named after my grandmother, Catherine.

**Jay Shetty** (2:45)
Where did the name Kavi come from?

**Paris Jackson** (2:46)
It means sage. His full name is Kavi Raja. And I mean sage, sage king.

**Jay Shetty** (2:50)
Yeah, I love that. Hey, it's Jay. I don't know what your day's been like, but I was just thinking about you for a minute. And I hope you're being a little patient with yourself because you deserve it. And yeah, I'll talk to you soon.
Paris, welcome to On Purpose.

**Paris Jackson** (3:17)
Thank you for having me.

**Jay Shetty** (3:18)
I'm so grateful that I got to listen to some of the album in preparation for the interview.
And I found it captivating. I found it moving. I found parts of it painful and difficult and challenging in a really cathartic way. And I found parts of it quite nostalgic, which was really, really beautiful actually, when something makes you feel like familiarity and positivity at the same time. And so thank you for putting it together. I wanted to ask you, obviously, the album's called Happiest Day of My Life, and you've said that you feel like you're in the happiest place in your life at the moment.

**Paris Jackson** (3:56)
I do.
The song title as well as the cover and kind of everything is a bit tongue-in-cheek. And also it is cool to say that I am really happy right now.

**Jay Shetty** (4:06)
Talk to me about the tongue-in-cheek part and the part that feels like it's true.

**Paris Jackson** (4:10)
So the lyrics are, this could be the happiest day of my life, but nothing lasts forever.
And so it's kind of like I've always really enjoyed self-deprecating humor, something with like a pessimistic view, even though, you know, in the last year, I've really redirected my perspective, and I tend to look for the silver lining, and I tend to look for the deeper meaning in things, and that hasn't made me happier. I still do enjoy pessimism in a humorous way, and I enjoy kind of self-deprecating humor and things like that. And so, the nothing lasts forever, second half of that line is very much just like almost making fun of my negativity.
