Dylan Mustin (0:16)

Hello, and welcome to Sidequest. This is our video game show here at GeekVerse. I am your host Dylan Mustin, and with the lord of the end time, Kirklin Patzer. How are you doing tonight, my friend?

Kirklin Patzer (0:30)

I'm doing pretty good.

Yeah, almost end of the September month here this week. And I can't believe that it's over already. I feel like I blinked in September. I feel like I was still like processing, like, okay, summer's over now. Entering September, fall's here. And then now it's just like, we're in the middle of fall. I've seen so many like Halloween decorations out and about. I took the dog for a walk and it's a vibe. I kind of like fall a lot. So yeah, I'm all for it.

Dylan Mustin (0:58)

Yeah. Do you have any fun Halloween plans? Like just dating over here in September, anything planned out yet?

Kirklin Patzer (1:07)

Not so much. I'm not like a big Halloween lad, even though I do like the season of, that surrounds the holiday of Halloween. But we have some friends that purchased a house this year and they're going to be getting trick-or-treat. Like I've never really had trick-or-treaters because I live in a condo. And I think there's some kids that live here, but they just go to neighborhoods for candy and whatnot, which is totally fair.

So we might go over to their place and I don't know, they might have a little Halloween party or just hand out candy to children or whatnot. I don't really have an outfit plan or anything, so I don't know if that's to be determined or whatnot. But yeah, I mean, not so much. I'm a little bit boring when it comes to Halloween celebrations, but what about you?

Dylan Mustin (1:55)

No, I really don't have any plans yet. I think it's because I'm in the same boat where, I don't know, where both August and September went, like they just vanished into thin air. So now we're already here in October and I don't really have any plans yet. So I don't know, we'll see. I mean, I usually, the last few years have just gone over to my sister's place, go trigger-treating with the kids because that's fun to do. So I'll probably do that. I don't even know what day Halloween is this year. What day of the week is it? I think it's Saturday.

Kirklin Patzer (2:21)

I think it's Saturday this year.

Dylan Mustin (2:23)

Wow. I feel like that's been a long time since it's been a weekend.

Kirklin Patzer (2:27)

It has been great for the kids.

Dylan Mustin (2:31)

Yeah. Great for the kids.

But other than that, I don't know. I like Fright Nights at Playland there, the haunted houses and stuff. Oh yeah. So maybe I'll plan to go do that. That'd be fun. I haven't done that in maybe three or four years.

Other than that, usually, the last few years too, I've had a big list ready to go, like here's all the scary horror games I'm going to play, here are the scary movies I'm going to catch up on. But I am just, again, so behind on everything that I don't have that list. So yeah, the last years I've had like, oh, I'm going to play this Resident Evil, this Amnesia game, this, that, and the other thing. But yeah, I guess I'm realizing just now in this moment that I don't have any plans to play any scary games, so I should fix that. Maybe, because I know we are planning on doing a Soma retrospective before that developer's new game. Maybe Soma will finally get crushed this month. I think that would be kind of wise to do that. So yeah, maybe I'll fire up Soma. Maybe that's my good scary game for the month.

Kirklin Patzer (3:25)

Let me know if you do jump on that, because maybe it will give me an excuse to jump on there myself, and then we can get ready for Entos.

Dylan Mustin (3:33)

Yeah, definitely.

It's the next New Year, so that's why we have more time. That's why we haven't done that retro yet. But yeah, maybe September will be a good time to play it, and we'll probably record it now, throw it up on Patreon months and months early, and then when that game actually drops is when we'd release that episode to the free feeds. But anyway, let's get into this episode, which is really just the games we've been playing, kind of a catch-up episode because Sidequest, as eagle-eared listeners have noted, it's been a little inconsistent the last couple of months. We went to just less episodes to catch up on other things, and again, none of us are really playing a lot of new games, so it's hard to weekly come up with a lot to talk about.
