Your brown skin shinin in the sun, you got your hair slicked back, and your sunglasses on, baby. I can tell you my love for you will still be strong after the boys of summer have gone.

Zach Gelb (0:19)

One of my favorites, I love this song.

Craig Carton (0:20)

That's impressive.

Chris McMonigle (0:21)

Not bad, right?

Craig Carton (0:23)

You're an elite karaoke guy at the bar?

Zach Gelb (0:25)

Elite, I mean, I try to stay away from karaoke because the whole point of karaoke is to have fun and I don't want to embarrass everybody. I don't want to get up there and be like, oh man, now how am I going to follow that? So I try not to.

Craig Carton (0:37)

Yeah. Because it's too good. I need the lyrics in front of me. I can't do what you just did.

Zach Gelb (0:41)

No, I'm good with lyrics. Names, not so much, but lyrics, for whatever reason, names can elude me. There's like a couple for whatever reason that I literally trained myself to remember. Not that I talk about them all that much, but there's a couple names. One is Miguel Andujar with the Yankees. Anytime we got into a discussion, we would talk about the Baby Bombers.

And I knew it going into the conversation, and it still would just elude me. And then the other one talking, Knicks for whatever reason, Mitchell Robinson. I had to say Mitchell.

Yeah, just for whatever reason, he would like in the middle of the conversation, his name would elude me. And a new one with the Giants is now Wondell Robinson. That's another name that I've had to like train myself to remember. For whatever reason, for whatever reason.

Craig Carton (1:23)

I see the signs, Wondell Robinson, you can't remember. Any time touchdown, Tennessee, week one against the Jets, that's gonna be a good bet.

Zach Gelb (1:30)

That's actually not a bad idea. I like it. I'll go through all the names I can't think of and bet them. Interesting. 888-808-1019.

All right, we'll talk Rutgers, we'll talk a little bit of baseball. We'll get into the more about how the Yankees and what they need to do to chase down the Rays. Big Series starting tonight.

Bueller on the mound for San Diego against Max Fried, who will be piggybacked by Will Warren. So, a couple things about tonight. One, I think they need to see a much better version of Max Fried. His last start, although he got through the three and two thirds without giving up too much damage, the fastball was more than just a tick down, it was several ticks down. He was throwing 93-94, we've seen 98-99. So I'm interested in getting a better performance from Max Fried tonight, maybe going a little bit deeper into the game. And then, Will Warren is there pretty much going to have open tryouts in the bullpen. Let's see Will Warren come out of the bullpen and what he can do after a brilliant start against the Red Sox his last time out.

Craig Carton (2:28)

This is at the tone spot for Max Fried. And this is a series that, I don't know how big it's going to play, but I think it's an enormous series because all this positive momentum, the schedule not being that brutal, but if they end up losing two out of three to an NL team, and I get it, the Padres aren't just juggernaut this year, people are going to start to say, oh, the Yankees, it's just an AO thing, they can't do it against the NL.

Zach Gelb (2:51)

I mean, that's true, and just really, inside the division, let's be honest, every game, the Rays lost last night, but they have three more games against the Rangers. The Rangers are a 500-baseball team, right? So, I mean, if they have a good weekend here against Texas and the Yankees fall on their face against the Padres, you're staring right back at five games. I mean, you can't afford to move backwards anymore. The Yankees can't afford to move backwards if they want to win this division. So really every series, but this Padres team, they got swept by the Rays.

Hopefully, the Yankees can go out there and take care of business and at least take two out of three. 888-808-1019. Let's go to John in New Jersey. What's up, John?

John (3:29)

Hey, thank you for taking my call.

Zach Gelb (3:31)

You got it.

John (3:32)

So my opinion, for whatever it's worth, you should have your own show. And the station not having you have your own show is a huge mistake. I'm going to tell you that right off the bat.
