And we're live from the living room, as Doug eyes up the matchday spread. He's reaching for the Buffalo wing. Perfect! Hang on, what's this? Oh, he's gone for a can of Pepsi too! Incredible!
What a finish!
Sensational combination! Look at the delight on his face. There's no doubt about it. It just tastes better. Matchdays deserve Pepsi. Food deserves Pepsi. Grab a pack of Pepsi Zero Sugar for today's match. It's poetry in motion.
**Patrick Bet-David** (0:30)
Folks, should you date your best friend's ex?
**SPEAKER_1** (0:34)
Jesus. Okay?
**Patrick Bet-David** (0:35)
Should you date your best friend's ex? I walk in this morning. Anthony lands this on me, and he says, you know the VT Gen Z, which they're freaking, they're doing such a great job with VT Gen Z on Instagram and TikTok. He says, do you think a man should date his best friend's ex?
By the time I gave the answer, you have to see his reaction at the end. He seemed very disappointed and I had to clarify and I said, by the way, are you dating your best friend's ex? He said, no, no, no. I said, then why you look like you're hurt by the answer? So Vinny, do you think you should date your best friend's ex?
**Vinny** (1:07)
No, and I would never do it. I don't want anything to do with love, them, conversation, history. Like if I'm your best friend, Pat, I'm ride or die. And I don't care if she throws herself at me, I'm staying away from that because nothing good is gonna come out from that, nothing. I mean, yeah, you know her. If he's your best friend and you've been around her, you know her, but that's your home, that's your brother.
I personally, no, no, that's a no-no for me.
**Tom** (1:32)
What if I didn't know it was my best friend's ex, and I really wasn't bringing up the fact that I was dating him?
**Patrick Bet-David** (1:38)
How many of his best friends' ex do you think he's hooked up with?
**Vinny** (1:40)
Oh, Bill? Slick Willie?
**Tom** (1:42)
Wait a minute, you mean unintentionally?
**Patrick Bet-David** (1:44)
But Tom, honestly, though, give a story. Was there a moment, was there a big fallout with friends? Is there anything? What do you stand with this?
**Tom** (1:51)
I remember being in high school, and we had a group of friends cross-country. I wasn't on the team. I was kind of an alternate, and I ran with them. And what was very interesting is there was a guy on the team, and I knew his girlfriend. I knew them all very, very well. And they broke up, and I kept talking to her, and I was just always friends with her. But in my mind, even back then, I always, the rule was, I wasn't going to go out with her.
You know, I didn't know if she'd say yes. But at that time, Pat, I was like, no, I'm not going to do that.
We were all friends, and I even, there was something back in my head, even back then that says, man, this would just create a lot of issues, just create a lot of drama. So it never really went further in my brain than that. Then, nah, it's not a good idea.
**Patrick Bet-David** (2:41)
Adam.
**Adam** (2:44)
There's an equation to this that I basically come up with. So feel free to use it out there. If you're out there in the dating game, should you date your best friend's ex?
**Tom** (2:52)
Yes.
**Adam** (2:53)
If this is your best friend, the first level is this is a hard no.
No exceptions whatsoever. Your best friend, hard no. If it's a friend, second category, it is a soft no with exceptions. Hey, look, man, I know that you dated, it's been a few years. There's a conversation as exceptions that could be made. If it's an acquaintance, it's a third level. The answer is yes, respectfully.
So the last thing you want to do is go into a relationship with drama, with people talking trash, with people saying, can you believe this? Can you believe this? Because that's a very bad way to start. But at the end of the day, your best friend, like your dog, literally and metaphorically, that guy's gonna be there a few forever.
**Patrick Bet-David** (3:39)
Let me ask you a question.
**Adam** (3:40)
I've never dated anything close to my best friend.
**Patrick Bet-David** (3:42)
Do you think your best friend will eventually find out?
**Vinny** (3:45)
Yes, for sure.
**Adam** (3:47)
They find out.
**Patrick Bet-David** (3:48)
Let's just say you hook up on a weekend. You think your friend will ever find out.
