Joe, Jonathan Kuminga talked to the Athletic about choosing Minnesota over the Lakers. Not to come off as disrespectful, but I didn't feel like Los Angeles was the right environment for me. There's a level of expectations outside North surrounding the Lakers that can become distracting, and I wanted a situation where I could stay focused on basketball and my development. I felt Minnesota offered a better defensive fit and a clearer role for me. Ultimately, it was a better situation. You like how the young man talking? As far as defensively, they're not going to be able to stop anybody. Now, when you look at Minnesota, he probably put himself in a situation where he was like, man, look, I go to Minnesota. They already got a couple of defensive specialists. They got a past first point guard in LaMelo, and they got a dog at the two at Elwoods.
Yeah, I want to contribute. I want to be a great piece to this puzzle, and I think that's where he looked at. I think he looks like Minnesota will be a much better team than probably the Lakers will be. So him going to Minnesota is going to be great.
