InGrace with Jim Scudder

September 25, 2026

Surely, you or your kids have seen the night at the museum. Well, I don't think you've ever seen the night at the Israel Museum. Well, that's what we're going to do today. On Tuesdays, they're open at night, and we're going to go check it out.

Hi, this is Pastor Jim Scudder, and we have quite an adventure for you. You will not believe that we're taking you to Jerusalem, and we're taking you to one of my favorite places in Jerusalem, the Israel Museum. Now, Israel has an amazing assortment of biblical artifacts, and I'm gonna show you my favorites today.

We're going to be kind of sneaking around. We're gonna be there at night, and it's not normally open. Actually, it is open. But we're gonna be describing to you some of the most amazing finds that connect the history of the Bible to the history at an actual museum. In other words, the Bible that we have such great confidence in is true because of all of these other facts that line up exactly as the Bible says. This is gonna be a fun, fun episode. I'm glad that you have joined us for this.

I would really want you to understand Israel. I think the best way to understand Israel is come to Israel with us. And we are taking our next InGrace Solidarity Tour in February. I want you to come. You say, is it safe? I feel safe for an Israel than I do anywhere else in the world, especially where I live here in Chicago. So if you'd like a free brochure, call us at 1-800-78-GRACE, 1-800-78-GRACE, or go to our website, ingraceradio.com, click on travel, and there you'll find the InGrace Israel Solidarity Tour brochure. This is gonna be an epic trip. I can't wait to show you this amazing place. Now, speaking of Israel, do you wanna understand Israel better? People are criticizing Israel and the Jewish people. There's all this anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism, Jew hatred that is proliferating today. I wrote a book against this with a co-writer, Phil Stringer. The book is titled The Spiritual War Against Israel. And you know what's interesting?

This book is not something I'm going to sell you. I'm going to send it to you as a thank you for your gift of any amount. So when you send a gift to InGrace, you're paying it forward so more people can hear this content about the truth of the Bible and archeology. And as a thank you, you're gonna get the book, The Spiritual War Against Israel. To make that gift, go to our website, ingraceradio.com, or call us at 1-800-78-GRACE.

1-800-78-GRACE. And the last thing I want to mention today is, we would love for you to stop in and visit us here at Quinton Road Baptist Church. We are in the Chicago area, the suburb of Lake Zurich. It's about an hour northwest of Chicago, about an hour southwest of Milwaukee. If you are passing through the Chicago or Milwaukee areas, or if you live in these areas, we would love to see you on a Sunday soon. Almost every Sunday at 11 o'clock central time, I'm preaching, and afterwards come up and say, hey, I listen to InGrace. I would be so honored to meet you and to meet your family. So to get more information on Quinton Road Baptist Church, go to our website, quintonroad.org. That's quentinroad.org.

And the last thing I would like to tell you is, we're raising money to double the Dayspring Bible College and Seminary Campus. If you'd like to make an investment in eternity, go to dbc.edu, and there is a lot of information and videos about a renovation project. It's really a miracle. dbc.edu.

SPEAKER_2 (4:36)

Dayspring Bible College's new miracle building is ready for restoration, so we can train more laborers for Christ. Want to see the vision or give toward it? Just go to dbc.edu.

That's dbc.edu.

Jim Scudder, Jr. (5:01)

All right, so what are we going to see here at the Night of the Israel Museum? Well, I'm going to show you five very important things. Number one, the big thing that we're going to see here, we're going to save for last, the Isaiah scroll. That's on actual display right now. It's usually a replica. I've only seen a replica. They have the real one on display. We're going to check that out. We're also going to see the model of the old city of Jerusalem, and it's really cool to see a big model. And then the three things inside the museum that I really want to see, the Dan Steel or Stella. That is an inscription that is further proof of the House of David, that actual piece is here. We're also going to find the Pontius Pilate stone and memorial, which is really amazing because Pontius Pilate wasn't found outside of the Bible. And so they just said the Bible must have made that up, but then they found it outside of the Bible. And then we're going to find the oldest known inscription in Hebrew of the Bible, the silver scrolls, the silver amulets. So these are the three things inside. We're going to go check out, and then we're going to look at the model outside, and then we're going to see the great Isaiah scroll.
