All right, welcome back or welcome to the Finding Mastery Podcast. I'm Michael Gervais. And the idea behind these conversations is to sit down with people who are on the path of mastery, to better understand what they're searching for, their psychological framework, and the particular mental skills that they've used to build and refine their craft. And before we jump in to this conversation, just a quick note, if you're like me and you like being reminded or revisiting brilliant pearls of wisdom, we're pulling those together, and we're calling that Minutes on Mastery. So punch over to iTunes, if you will, and do a quick search for Minutes on Mastery, and you'll be able to have daily updates of two to three minute pearls of wisdom that are very applied and have them sent right to your phone. So we're excited about that. And also, if you want to be part of the Finding Mastery community, head over to findingmastery.net forward slash community where you guys can support each other and we'll bounce in from time to time and just have hopefully invigorated conversations off from this podcast.

I want to take a minute here to announce a really exciting event that we have coming up. As you continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities of 2024, I want to pose a question. What are you doing right now to be great with stress? How are you working with stress on your pursuit towards your most important ambitions and goals? And I just want to get right to the heart of the key elements, one in particular, for what it takes to excel in today's high heat, high stakes world. Because stress is not the problem that we think it is. Stress is a synonym for change. And our ability to be agile with change, that is the real opportunity at hand. So if you're wanting to unlock extraordinary results and sustainable performance in your life, it's not about avoiding or reducing stress. And as simple as that sounds, it's very tricky to do, but it is about fundamentally changing your relationship with it. And that's why I'm so thrilled to invite you to a special event. It's a free virtual event that we're offering, and it's called The Power of Embracing Stress. It's on Wednesday, March 6th at 2 p.m. Pacific. Nicole represented the US in the 2008 Olympics and 2012 Olympics where she helped the team that she was part of win silver in both. And she was also part of the team that won the 2014 World Championships. So she plays indoor volleyball and she plays a position known as libero. It's an Italian word that means free. Isn't that a great concept? Isn't that a great word for a position?

Now, Nicole is known as being one of the best, if not the best in the world at her craft. And just for a moment, think about what it's like to be the best at the thing that you care most about, whether that be parenting or business or entrepreneurship, or maybe it's just as simple as being the best version of you. And if you're into that concept, which I think we all are, then you're just going to love this conversation. Now, to be successful at her craft, at the position of the barrel, you need to be a great communicator, you need to be able to handle pressure, and you need to be able to be the one that sets up the proper offense or that sets up the offense in the best position. The concept behind that is that you have to be right to be able to take care of others. That's woven inside of this conversation.
