Newsom’s Billionaire Tax, Iran War Escalates & Israel Acknowledges Genocide | PBD Podcast #825

There's a guy that wants to be the president who was the governor of California who apparently came up at first, was against the wealth tax in the state of California. Now he says he wants to make the wealth tax a national topic, and on top of that, he starts talking about how the top 10% makes too much money. Yeah, I don't know if you know how much the top 10% makes, Vinnie. If you're in the top 10% individual income, you make $1.55 a year. If you're in the top 10% husband and wife, you make $2.55 a year. He says, you're too rich, that's what Newsom is saying. He's saying, it's too rich, and we gotta do something about this. And now he wants to come in. Elon responded, and he responded to Elon. There's a bunch of things going on there. We'll talk about that. Iran's goal, apparently, allegedly, FIFA's coming out and saying, we made a mistake, because they were celebrating. It was a big thing that they were almost about to win in advance, and I think goal was scored last minute, and they got kicked out.
It's a whole different story we'll address. Israel officially is recognizing the Armenian genocide. It's a big story that was all over the place, the Armenian-Assyrian Greek genocide of what Turkey did, and I'll share that story. We'll get into that.
Then aside from that, Iran strikes a couple boats, and Trump's not happy. Right after business hours, I think on Friday, they made sure the market was closed before they retaliated, and they said this was intentional, that they waited for the market to close before, but whether they did that or not, I would say strategically good for them, if they didn't want that happen. A guy named Chris Murphy wants minimum wage to be raised to 25 bucks an hour across the country, from 7.25 to 25 bucks an hour, and a lot of people are talking about this. They don't understand how damaging this is going to be to certain people, but we'll address it. Mamdani says a DSA candidate can win anywhere. Literally, he says anybody can win as a DSA, democratic socialists can win everywhere, and Trump came out and said he would be the best communist in the world. He says I would be the best communist in the world, and he had a bunch of other things to say about that. We'll talk about that. Texas wants to make Bible passages part of the curriculum in school, and you know not a lot of people are happy about it, but Texans are. They're like, no, we kind of like that. Let's do that. Let's go back to what it was like back in the days. And then there's this commercial that Vinnie just watches on repeat, but they haven't convinced him yet, but it's just a commercial he watches on repeat, the HelloFresh commercial.

When he told me what it is, I said, that's not even possible because that's a dumb idea to do that. Unless if you're a niche product and you only sell to people that, you know, he'll address it. It's a very weird story. But again, people are, you know, some marketing companies, they don't, they're quick to forget what Dylan Mulvaney did to a couple of their ideas. Movie came out. I have to talk to you guys about this movie. Last time me and Tico watched this movie, we had conversations till 12.15 at night in a morning today. This new movie with Armie Hammer about the citizen vigilante. Vinnie, if you haven't seen it, everybody has to watch it. By the way, it is such a controversial movie, Vinnie. I think the budget was $750,000, if I'm not mistaken.
With this, it's nothing. It's like the other movie, Obsession, was $750,000. Can you show how much the budget was? It could have been $7.5 million, but I just saw $750,000. Go a little bit lower right there to see what the budget was. Can you ask what the budget for it was? I thought it was $750,000.
Anyways, so $750,000 budget makes the movie. The movie is banned in Germany. You can't even watch the movie in Germany right now. Our budget was $80 million. There's no way the budget was $80 million. There's no way the budget was $80 million. No, that's not true.
