Hello, and welcome to episode 1016 of the official establishtherun.com podcast. My name is Adam Levitan. I am one of the co-founders here at ETR, as always, joined by fellow co-founder Evan Silva, and we are just nine short days away from week one.
Truly makes you feel happy to be alive. Evan, how's it going today?
**Evan Silva** (0:40)
Yeah, it's going well. All the preseason games are behind us. Final cuts are behind us.
53-man rosters are largely set. So yeah, it's time to start writing the matchups article.
**Adam Levitan** (0:52)
Indeed it is, and we are getting set for our week one content as we get going here, part of the in-season product, all the fantasy projections and everything that goes along with that for week one. Certainly exciting times. On today's show, we will be discussing what has happened at training camps and in preseason games over the last seven days and how we should be adjusting our fantasy rankings for that. We will also go over how all that has affected Silva's top 150 If I had a draft coming up, here's what I would do. First, I wouldn't drink for at least 72 hours before my draft. I wouldn't smoke for at least 48 hours before my draft. I would buy the ETR Draft Kit for just $54.99. I would consume as many articles as I could. If I had a live draft, I would print out the ranks like a man and scratch the tiered names off with a pen. If I had an online draft, I'd use the ETR extension to get our ranks into the applets. Then during the season, I'd use Stormin's ranks, Diego's waiver wire. Then I'd come back in January at the full 3.9 inches to collect my winnings. Very easy game. Again, that is the Draft Kit on establishtherun.com.
All right. Let's get into it here. Story number one comes from Green Bay.
Josh Jacobs placed on the commissioners exempt list. In other words, Jacobs will keep getting paid, but he is not eligible to practice or play while he is on this list.
I think the thought here is that the NFL has conducted its own investigation, has possibly seen the video of the alleged domestic violence incident, and the rumor is that the video is so bad that the NFL is effectively taking justice into their own hands. In other words, Jacobs has only been charged with two misdemeanors, but the NFL knows it will look awful if the video comes out while Jacobs is playing for the Packers. So, Evan, I know you were already mega low Jacobs, mega high Lloyd, which is very, very, very good. What are your latest thoughts now that Jacobs is on the commissioners exempt list?
**Evan Silva** (3:05)
Yeah, and before this, I had already pulled out Josh Jacobs out of the top 150 I thought that he was not draftable, and now I don't think he's really... He's not a player that I'm trying to draft, even if people are like, oh, we could get him in the eighth or the ninth round. Like, I don't think so. Also, if the video comes out, it's going to be very hard for the Packers to justify having him on their team.
You know, I think it's probably a coin flip at this point, whether Josh Jacobs ever plays football again. And Marshawn Lloyd is a player that we have been high on throughout the process. I think he's my highest drafted running back in fantasy. We've been taking him since we started doing analysis for the 20-26 fantasy football season. I think he's good. He was a guy who ran 4-4-6 at 220 pounds coming out of USC. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry his final season in college, 17.8 yards per reception. Actually, I was watching a clip of Daniel Jeremiyah doing the draft analysis when the Packers picked Marshawn Lloyd.
Daniel Jeremiyah compared him to DeAndre Swift. I'm really, really excited about Marshawn Lloyd. I have him up at 65 overall. If you're using the 150 and you haven't done your draft yet and you want to use those rankings, good chance you're going to get Marshawn Lloyd. I think that he settled in from a consensus standpoint, just from reading other rankers. I think that he's probably around maybe pick 75 or 80 I'm up at 65
**Adam Levitan** (4:40)
Yeah, so I'll touch more on Jacobs in a sec. I do want to go back to what Silva said about Marshawn Lloyd. So Marshawn Lloyd has played in one game in his NFL career.
Even in college, he had never had more than 129 touches in a season. The price that you have to pay for Marshawn Lloyd now, I think, is going to be somewhere in the 70s or 80s. In the ETR ranks, we went to 72 overall on Marshawn Lloyd.
