Our reoccurring Marvel BS meter. And yeah, I'm just gonna make a little note here.

Dylan (0:08)

Make an incision just below the chest.

SPEAKER_1 (0:11)

Exactly. And yeah, we're just gonna start ripping through these. So what's our first one to throw at you here, Dylan? I got a new Marvel show to be, I love it. Travis, I absolutely love him with his notes, and he does such a great job with them.

But sometimes I do Ron Burgundy things, where I just read teleprompter style, and it's like impossible to do that with Travis' notes.

Dylan (0:34)

Sometimes? Absolutely.

SPEAKER_1 (0:36)

If it was me and Taylor, we usually never do, and then Travis gives a shit for it. I even did a decent job this time. I was like asking him some questions to clarify some things. Normally I don't do that. I just go full Wild West, but love you, Travis. Keep doing what you're doing with these notes. But so the next Marvel show, which I imagine would be on Disney+, of course, would be a detective slash X-Files style. Now, I wanted to ask you, have you ever seen X-Files? I know it was like a long running show. Me neither. Okay. So that doesn't help us at all. But I imagine it's like one of those many detective shows that were out like on cable TV that like everyone's mom watched. I know my mom did, The Mentalist, CSI, all of those types of shows, NCIS. I imagine it would be similar feel to that. But of course, with the little Marvel spin to it. And then the little footnote, of course, episodic show that will be led by potentially two to three characters new to the MCU that potentially little to no history in the comics, which is a wild statement to me personally. And then the other one on there is apparently being developed to be rated TVMA, which is another interesting little tidbit nuggets. And it's also designed to fit in the background of the MCU, to potentially pick up or explore and expand stories and characters that have been used.

But maybe, or sorry, have been used in the past, but maybe not recently. Of course, we have a handful of those that they kind of like introduced, set some breadcrumbs of where they potentially might go, but then they've just never been around again. Of course, like Eternals would be a good one. There's so many characters in there that, of course, were introduced in there but haven't popped up again.

And yeah, stuff like that. So, film us. I'll throw it to you. Discuss, that's Taylor Fieldwood.

Dylan (2:24)

He does say that. What's funny about this is this was in me last week, or last week's me and Taylor Weekly Geek episode with like that first headline thing, but then me and Taylor were like, I don't have any thoughts on that. There's not enough detail there. And so I liked that this week Travis has brought it back, but he's filled it in with a lot more info. So now I actually like do have thoughts on this because this is a really interesting concept. Maybe there's new information that has surfaced, which could point towards it being more truthful possibly. Or he just decided, he's like, you know what, yeah, maybe I'll give these guys a bone who are not quite as in the know as the man Travis himself. But so many interesting things here.

I mean, all three of these notes for it are quite intriguing. For having this show kick off with two new characters who maybe have a name in a comic, but don't have a comic book run or any series or anything like that, seems like a bad idea, I feel like. And I don't know if this concept would work better if you pull someone who's been in the MCU in a small way or just some more known comic book character. But I don't know, it seems like from the little glimmers we have here of information, it seems like it's a bit of an everything show. And that's where I struggle to see what the hook of it is, and how you build an audience, and how you sell it, especially if it's like, oh, you're introducing new characters, you're bringing back old characters, haven't been around in a while, and we want to see what they're up to. I don't know, I guess I just don't see the vision for this.

Vision pun not intended because visions got a show coming out soon here. But yeah, I don't know, there's something, and then I'll throw the MA rating on top of that, and then you kind of reduce the audience for it. So I feel like I would really need to see a trailer, see a pitch for this, because honestly, with this little bit of information we have, I just don't see the hook, and I feel like with where we're at in Marvel, MCU, specifically the television shows, I feel like we really need that. But I also don't know if we need this. I almost feel like this would be better as like, oh, we're doing individual comic runs that are part of the MCU, that aren't actually a TV show or a movie. They're just comic runs to fill in some background. I almost feel like that would work better, like some weird web series thing, or maybe a smaller animated show could work better than, I mean, maybe this is animated, but I don't think so. It sounds like it'd be pushing for a live action thing. But I struggled to see the vision with this one, with the information we have here. I guess it's a bunch of interesting puzzle pieces, but they don't form a complete picture is where I'm at. Yeah.
