Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Rotoworld Football Show. It's Tuesday, August 4th, 2026 The regular season is nigh. I'm Patrick Daugherty, joined by Denny Carter. We're joined by a bushel of running back news, including a new highest paid in league history. Bijan Robinson, the shortest national nightmare in the history of America is over. The hold-in is over after like two or three days. He's been real paid. Ashton Jeanty is real down. His weight, that is, 27 pounds. Denny Carter is going to play a lot lighter this year. Jordan Mason's weight also down. Judarian Price's ADP may be going up. Lots of running back news, including the second half of the show. We're going to touch on Denny's Zero RB Manifesto coming out on the site. Also going to touch on some receiver news. Deebo Samuel, of course, has a new home, which was the same as his old home. All that and more when we come right back after this.
We're back. We've got a lot of news. But Denny, before we even get to the news, has a rule change he wants to make. First off, he was watching contraband television, Canadian television, Canadian football, which we don't acknowledge in this country.
I know lots of people swear by the CFL. I would like to watch it occasionally, but even I as a true sports junkie, there's always a better option than the CFL.
But you're watching it. You witnessed something. Tell us what the CFL, tell us what you witnessed, tell us what you would like to see come to the National Football League.
**Denny Carter** (1:42)
Listen, I watched my Edmonton Elks at every opportunity. I'm a long time, lifelong Edmonton Elks fan since 2021
And I saw something that I think deserves some attention in the United States, particularly in the NFL, which is this. A defender for my Elks, very unfairly, was thrown out of the game. No, it's not unfair, but was thrown out of the game for what the refs termed embellishment. And this was after he got into a minor verbal situation with the opponent. The opponent kind of touched his shoulder and he flopped. Okay. And big time, it was a great year.
**Patrick Daugherty** (2:22)
That's just your opinion. He might have heard.
**Denny Carter** (2:25)
I mean, he's on, look, he's on my favorite team. So I'm being as objective as I can. And he flopped and then the refs reviewed it. And they said embellishment, he's out of the game. It wasn't even a warning. Okay.
I think we need to bring this to the NFL because honestly, especially the quarterback flopping, I think is becoming as much of a problem in some ways as the flopping among elite players in the NBA. Now, you and I disagree on who is playing here.
**Patrick Daugherty** (2:53)
We do, say his name, just at him, just at him. Don't try to beat her on the bush for the general quarterback.
**Denny Carter** (2:58)
I'm going to at Patrick Mahomes here because the only way the Kansas City Chiefs move the ball anymore is for him to tiptoe on the sideline, wait for someone to breathe on him and then throw his body out of bounds and get a 15-yard penalty.
**Patrick Daugherty** (3:12)
I've got about five different flags to throw at you on this one. Part of that is, another term that is in the flopping nomenclature in soccer is mistaken identity. I feel like Patrick Mahomes has a mistaken identity as the worst quarterback flopper. I think Josh Allen flops far, far, far, far, far, far more, which people ignore because he also takes big hits far, far, far, far, far more. I think Allen flops more than Mahomes.
First of all, I think he's genuinely flopped once or twice ever. I think it's a totally unearned reputation.
He drives everyone crazy because of what you said is true. He dares people to hit him at the sidelines, and then they do illegally, and then they are flagged. He baits them into an illegal act, which is totally enraging. But I would say something he does very successful. I feel like he does actually get hit, thrown, whatever. You can't do it. Just because he baited you into it doesn't mean it's illegal. You just fell into a strap, and then you did it.
**Denny Carter** (4:14)
I see.
That's a good point. I can think of some times where Josh Allen has been hit, in a way that you know that a big boy like Josh Allen is not going down.
**Patrick Daugherty** (4:25)
He starts rolling like an Amar.
**Denny Carter** (4:28)
He flies backward, and you're just like, that couldn't have happened. I'm sorry, you're not Bryce Young. They can't do that to you.
