Yeah, 522 Carton Show Big Mack, great having you here.
Game three tomorrow night will be live at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon for game three, live from Yankee Stadium, that is. So looking forward to it, I got a bunch of guests already lined up, as this could be the last game of the Yankee season. Matter of fact, it could be the last Yankee game for a couple years.
Chris McMonigle (0:21)
Don't say that.
Craig Carton (0:22)
On the table.
Chris McMonigle (0:23)
No.
Nancy (0:24)
On the table. A couple years?
Craig Carton (0:25)
Well, at least a year, yeah.
Chris McMonigle (0:27)
No.
Craig Carton (0:28)
A year and a half, actually, if you think about it.
Chris McMonigle (0:31)
They will find a way to play baseball.
Craig Carton (0:32)
By the way, I hope they do. By the way-
Chris McMonigle (0:34)
They might not be 162, but they'll find ways to do it.
Craig Carton (0:36)
One of the things my dear friend, Rob Manfred, takes great pride in, as he should, whether you like him as commissioner or not, not for this current statement I'm about to make, is that-
Chris McMonigle (0:47)
Does he even like baseball?
Craig Carton (0:49)
I like it. As his tenure, as a commissioner of Major League Baseball, they have missed zero games.
With all the labor strife and the back and forth, and this and that, and COVID and all that crap, I guess outside of COVID, I don't think-
Chris McMonigle (1:03)
I was going to say they'd missed 102
Craig Carton (1:05)
Outside of COVID, they have missed, I guess the point is, they've missed zero games because of labor disputes.
Chris McMonigle (1:11)
No, I'm not blaming him. I'm just saying you said COVID. That's incorrect.
SPEAKER_4 (1:14)
I'm not blaming him for COVID.
Craig Carton (1:15)
Yeah.
Chris McMonigle (1:16)
Right.
Craig Carton (1:16)
He was not responsible for COVID.
Chris McMonigle (1:18)
No.
Craig Carton (1:18)
I think the Wuhan lab was, if I'm not mistaken. Has that been confirmed?
Chris McMonigle (1:22)
I don't know.
Craig Carton (1:23)
Maybe it was Fauci responsible for it? In any event, do you think the last thing that he does as commissioner is oversee a work stoppage?
If that's his greatest source of pride, no work stoppages have not missed a single game other than COVID. Right. He can't go out having missed games, right?
Nancy (1:42)
So from an ego standpoint.
Chris McMonigle (1:43)
So he's going to cave?
Craig Carton (1:44)
Not can cave obviously, but maybe that's like a pressing issue for him. I'm not going out with a work stoppage.
Chris McMonigle (1:52)
Just push it down the line, fellas.
Craig Carton (1:55)
I'm not going to push it down the line either. Yeah. I think we're either going to have a cap of some sort, and it's a conversation for another day. But there's a chance that tomorrow night is the last Yankee game you see for a year and a half. That's on the table, sadly.
Put even more pressure on the Yankees not to leave their fans ticked off of them for 18 months. Yeah. They're also favored. Now, to be fair, the Yankees are also favored to win the series.
Nancy (2:18)
Slight favorites, but they're favored.
Chris McMonigle (2:20)
They were favored last night.
Craig Carton (2:20)
Because you even said the Rays should be favored in the series.
SPEAKER_4 (2:24)
I said the Rays should be favored.
Nancy (2:25)
You're very, very consistent about that.
Chris McMonigle (2:26)
They've earned the right to be the favorite in the series. And now, obviously, they're the heavy favorite, but they were the underdog last night. They'll be the underdog tomorrow night.
Craig Carton (2:33)
Yeah.
Chris McMonigle (2:34)
And I'm curious if they win that game, if they favor the Yankees at home in game four.
Craig Carton (2:38)
I guess depends on the pitch. If Rasmussen is pitching or not.
Chris McMonigle (2:41)
If Rasmussen is pitching, I guess you got to give them the favorite.
Craig Carton (2:43)
The Rays have to be favored if he's pitching.
Chris McMonigle (2:45)
Yeah. He owns them. Yeah.
Craig Carton (2:46)
He's their daddy. Here's Nancy in Short Beach, Connecticut, which I've never heard of. Nancy, how you doing, baby face?
Nancy (2:54)
I am good. I am very good. And I just want to say I'm the woman that you spoke to in the summer about the Silvox TV set. Yes. I'm glad you got it.
Craig Carton (3:03)
And by the way, thank you for suggesting I get it. It's life-changing.
Nancy (3:07)
Isn't it?
Craig Carton (3:08)
Best TV I've ever had, Silvox outdoor TVs.
