This is The Rundown.

We begin today on a light card in the sense of drama, but still a lot to get to on Saturday with a group of six effort. A lot of group of six contests that I think are going to be really important in the grand scheme of things, both in their respective conferences, but also just in terms of entertainment value. You keep saying this over and over again, but you look at that Saturday card, that night slate looks pretty freaking good. But you got a lot of group of six matchups going up against each other with, of course, the cherry on top, the highlight, if you will, you say in cow, which is not a group of six matchup, but around them, a trio of group of six matchups we will get into and just all of the important group of six contests that we will see on Saturday at some point here today. We also will head out to Alabama. Our girl Stormy Bonatoni, the Tuscaloosa woman today, will join us, we'll get her thoughts on what's happening with Alabama taking on East Carolina, see if she's dug up any more information on what's going on. Keelan Russell, of course, winning that job, looking very forward to seeing his debut. I'm somebody that is very high on Alabama, the lone person here at the network that picked Alabama to win the national championship. Do you have a bet on them to win the SEC? Am I gonna be right? Am I gonna be wrong? What's going on with that offensive line? We'll have a ton of questions answered from Stormy as she's out there on the sidelines for ECU and Alabama tomorrow. We'll check in with her to see what's going down. But as we mentioned, it is of course going to be the theme every single Friday.
It is a Football Friday. We have a lot to get to. We've got three ranked teams in action today, plus a full card, one point spread that is within a field goal that we'll discuss because we moved off of that key number, a very popular side, it would seem. We have a lot of breaking news as well. And as part of Football Friday, we got a lot of smart people with us. Mike Palm is going to join us coming up in about 13 minutes from now. We'll get his thoughts on the big news of the day, not football, but big news nonetheless, as we have learned that Kathy Engelbert is going to retire as WNBA Commissioner. And of course, a lot to get to when it comes to baseball and more, Mike's going to cover that. We'll get Best Bets from Will Hill, Zach Cohen, and Alex White is going to be with us too. Contestant in the now fully announced Circa Friday, Football Invitational Field, go to vson.com, check out the article and see the entirety of that field. But Alex is going to be with us coming up and we'll get an idea of what she's looking at for this weekend in college football. But let's start with a little bit of breaking news and it has to do with the card today because of those ranked teams, Miami will be on the road against Stanford today, the seventh ranked team in the country. They are holding strong as 24.5 points favorites, total of 47.5. Stanford, of course, we saw in action in week zero against Hawaii and we saw them give up three straight touchdown drives, flirt with a little bit of disaster, but a late score plus a scoop and score for a touchdown, gives them the cover, gives them the victory, but they do not come out of that game unblemished. According to Pete Thamel, Stanford is going to be without four projected offensive starters and a key defender against Miami and Palo Alto. Stanford has three projected offensive line starters out with injury. Left tackle, guard, and starting center. Widershev and Niko Brown is out as well, and Edge, Gabe Kaminski, one and a half sacks against Hawaii is also not going to play.
