Happy Tuesday, everybody, and no better Tuesday than coming off a Monday with a 49ers win. Let's go, and kudos to you. So I get the win as a fan, you get the win as a better, and we welcome you into Money Moves. Stormy Buonantony, Jonathan Von Tobel with you live as always in downtown Las Vegas, Circus Resort and Casino. The vibes are high this morning. How are we doing?
Jonathan Von Tobel (0:38)
Nobody cares about football. Nobody cares about the 49ers. Nobody cares about the National Football League.
Stormy Buonantony (0:44)
Don't mess up the rundown.
Jonathan Von Tobel (0:46)
What do you mean?
Nobody cares. It's a bigger day.
Stormy Buonantony (0:50)
It is. I understand. You want to tell everybody what you were just doing before we got on air?
Jonathan Von Tobel (0:54)
No. Let's get to the rundown, boys and girls. We got a show to start.
SPEAKER_1 (0:58)
It's time for the top headlines and topics of the day. This is the rundown.
Stormy Buonantony (1:03)
That was a rough cue, but I appreciate you. Let's run it down, everybody, starting with Major League Baseball because the World Series is set. Following last night, 7-3 win over the Guardians of Tampa Bay Rays. We'll meet the Milwaukee Brewers in the Fall Classic beginning this Friday. JVT Brew Crew, minus 160 favorites, Rays plus 140
And how about fastball, Freddie Peralta? Five and a third gritty innings and he wins the ALCS MVP.
Jonathan Von Tobel (1:27)
So I was out at a local spot here, John Murray, who is running the Westgate over there. And of course, our buddy Doug Kazarian, and we were talking about this. It was somewhat of a surprise, but then you remember that he came in and relieved the other night as well. Gave him two outs. Freddie has been fantastic, because we've talked about they have not lost a game that he has started in two months. It has been absolutely unreal what Freddie Peralta has done in his transformation over there for Tampa Bay. So I think it's relatively fitting considering how important pitching was in a really tight series. And now they move on.
I'm not going to go out in a massive limb here and say that the $1.60 favorite is going to win this World Series, because I believe that's going to be the case. That bullpen from Milwaukee is awesome. But Freddie Peralta is going to have something to say about that. I think if he's going to continue to pitch this way, well deserved award.
Stormy Buonantony (2:08)
Against his former organization, no less, facing the Milwaukee Brewers, 108 ERA in the four postseason games he appeared in. This after, mind you, being two months removed from having the worst ERA in the sport and on a team that was dying. So good for him.
We will also have vsin.com Managing Editor Adam Burke, by the way, join us coming up in about 30 minutes, talk through his thoughts on the World Series, feel bad for him. He is a Guardians fan, but maybe he's a little bit happier knowing that the Cleveland Browns are tops in the division right now. So we'll get into a lot of good stuff with him. But speaking of titles, the New York Knicks will begin their NBA title defense tonight. JVT, this is what you were getting to, but here is your moment, Banner Night at MSG, opening night in the NBA. This is your time.
Jonathan Von Tobel (2:49)
Let's effing go. I'm very excited. We get a game that's gonna get started while we're on the air in our second hour.
We were blasting Round Ball Rock by John Tesh as we were getting ready for the show to get started.
Stormy Buonantony (3:01)
And I was singing the SNL version. Buh-buh-buh-buh-buh basketball.
Jonathan Von Tobel (3:06)
I'm really excited. Basketball is back. You know me, I'm a basketball nerd. Really enjoy it. Looking forward to watching the rest of the game here, this early game out here. Watching the games later tonight, obviously, just really locked in on what's going to happen. We get some really good ones today. We get to see the iteration of the 76ers, who already injury drama. It's all bench guys, but still, a long injury report nonetheless. And then of course, San Antonio, Oklahoma City. It's going to be a great card. And I'm telling you, tomorrow, I was rolling through a banger after banger after banger after banger after banger. I am so excited that the NBA is back. And I cannot wait to watch this game coming up here in about an hour.
