Picking up our two Money Moves live in downtown Las Vegas today or tomorrow. We are at the D in downtown on Fremont Street having a little bit of fun over here in Beyoncé.
**Jonathan Von Tobel** (0:20)
I mean, you know I love it over here, absolutely no question about it.
**Stormy Buonantony** (0:23)
We had a blast during the NCAA tournament down here. And like the access to all of the screens and just being able to hear and see all of the chaos for March Madness. So much fun.
Still to come this hour, we will dive into more Major League Baseball. We've got a full card on deck today. Also, a fun market we're going to dive into in college football, the Bear Bryant Award for Coach of the Year. Looked up some interesting information. Quite frankly, a handful of pretty decent bang for your buck options that match a lot of the quote unquote systems that you might have for previous winners of that award. But of course, we're going to continue to kick off the hour the way that we have each and every day over the last couple of weeks as our NFL training camp tour continues.

While it's triple digits here in Vegas, I did feel some autumn wind. The autumn wind is a raider. Let's get it.
**SPEAKER_1** (1:20)
Is it? I hadn't heard that one before.
**Stormy Buonantony** (1:22)
Although I don't know how much knocking down and conquering will be done this season for a team whose win total is five and a half.
**SPEAKER_1** (1:30)
Okay.
**Stormy Buonantony** (1:31)
Yes. I saw a stat earlier talking about the playoffs. Missed the playoffs for 21 of the last 23 seasons, and expectations are that will be the case again this year. Last year obviously didn't go to plan JVT. Pete Carroll, who was supposed to reset the culture and lead a competitive rebuild with all of his energy, ended up seeing Vegas tie a franchise record for losses with 14
They earned the number one overall pick though, which now gives you hope for the future and what your franchise quarterback should be.
**Jonathan Von Tobel** (2:03)
Yeah, it's cute, but he's not going to play this year, so why do we care about that? The question is this year, what's going to happen with this group?
Look, I think that this is a team that's, I mean, over minus 150 on a five and a half seems very strong for this group. I think that given the juice on this, if I'm getting plus 125 on a team that I think is going to win maybe five to six games, I just don't think that's going to be a high probability that they're getting to six games like that. So, plus 125 and under five and a half, I think is valuable. Look, their offensive line stinks. It's a really big problem. They have problems at guard that aren't really filled. Guys, you know, you talk about desperately holding on to the idea of the autumn wind being a raider. They are desperately holding on to the idea that Jackson Powers Johnson was and is going to be something at guard and or center, and it's just not working out.
**Stormy Buonantony** (2:47)
Yeah, I was going to say, so I heard Clint Kubiak make the comments this week about Jackson Powers Johnson and Caleb Rogers that this week is going to be a really big one for who ultimately gets that starting guard role. How disappointing is it that Jackson Powers Johnson has not been even close to the guy that they thought he would be? That said, though, the offensive line at large, I mean, Colton Miller, who missed so much of last season, you have him back, you pay a record setting contract to bring in Tyler Linderbaum. Are you not at least more optimistic about what this unit is?
**Jonathan Von Tobel** (3:14)
I mean, you think you're optimistic about Tyler Linderbaum, but I just don't think that's going to be the case. I mean, case in point, and again, it's comparing it to the best in the NFL, but you do it for a reason. They, by all accounts, got their asses kicked in camp with the Texans.
Not even close. And so this is going to be a group that's going to have some problems at almost every single position.
In the case of JPJ, you hear things about him kind of throwing hissy fits to the fact that he was just never made the center. And so that's always going to be something where if that is really true, then you've kind of lost a guy mentally at that point, and he's not even good enough to begin with, missed some time already in camp as well. I expect this to be bottom 10 offensive line in the NFL. Maybe you could argue it's closer to, you know, what are we talking about, 20 second, that it is a 30 second, but either way, you're in that range if you're this group. And I think you can make the argument that Kubiak system, that Kubiak zone running scheme, that Shanahan stuff, maybe it accentuates an offensive line to an extent when it comes to the run blocking. But we'll take you back a couple of years ago, the Texans tried to do that with this offensive line in a similar scheme, and that didn't really work out. So like we see it all the time of these types of offenses really failing because of their past pro not really working out, and I think that's going to be the case. Frankly, I think that's why they signed Kirk Cousins as well, to kind of let him lead in offense that they knew was going to struggle. And defensively, you talk about what you've seen both in the preseason and reading reports, they are changing their defense around, they brought in a ton of new bodies to help facilitate the change of the scheme, but by all accounts it hasn't worked out. Given the big plays, high scoring preseason games, issues on the back end, I just don't see a scenario here for the Raiders they're going to prove greatly from a three-win team last year. Now, if they win five games, sure, you've improved this record, but you look at the schedule, you find me the opportunities where you're feeling extremely confident that this team is going to be in some of these contests as somebody who thinks the Jets are going to be a little bit better, that the Cardinals have the offensive talent that we just talked about. I hardly believe road games against those teams are just circle them up and win. And then after that, I mean, you're on even scale. I think with a couple of these teams, you're favored against the Dolphins at home to open up the season, but the opportunities for you, I think, are very few and far between on this schedule.
