It's a big day for the West Australian 16s tomorrow. We'll take on Vic Metro on the Gold Coast. Joining us on the show now is their coach, Mick Glassborrow. Mick, welcome.

**Mick Glassborow** (1:01)
Thank you. Thanks for having me.

**Mark Duffield** (1:03)
So Mick, two weeks ago, a great 12 point win against South Australia in the first game of the championships. That must have impressed you a lot. Tell us what you liked most about it.

**Mick Glassborow** (1:14)
Yeah, it's one that we sort of set ourselves for. We hadn't won there, I think, for over 10 years. So we sort of spoke about the boys early in their training block. It would be a good opportunity to go over there and do something that not many sides have done from WA. And the boys were really good, just executed the game really well, and well to get in pretty much on our control for most of the day. And yeah, so it was impressive to go away and win in South Australia.
And we're really excited now to have a crack again tomorrow against Vic Metro.

**Mark Duffield** (1:39)
They did come at you a bit late, but you were pretty dominant early and possibly should have been further in front.

**Mick Glassborow** (1:44)
Yeah, we just probably missed opportunities. I think we hit the post five times, kicking 14 points wasn't ideal, but yeah, we could have put the game away a little bit early. But I thought the boys, when the game was on the line, stood up with some really big moments to make sure we got away with the four points.

**Mark Duffield** (1:58)
So one of those boys who has a name very familiar to us and a brother who played very well in a game on Thursday night, Troy Warner from Eastramannel, the brother of Chad and Corey, of course, at the Sydney Swans. Now, tell us about Troy.

**Mick Glassborow** (2:11)
Yeah, mate, he's probably like a mix of all the Warners. He's just a great kid, great speed and endurance and unbelievably smart.
So he's a pretty important player for us. And he sort of gets us going across that half-forward midfield role. So we look forward to him having another pretty good game, hopefully tomorrow.

**Mark Duffield** (2:27)
So body size. I mean, Chad's quite a reasonable size mid. Corey's a little bit smaller than Chad. Where does Troy fit in in terms of height and weight?

**Mick Glassborow** (2:37)
He's probably a little bit smaller than Chad, so he's still growing. But he'll probably finish around Chad's height, I reckon, will be sort of the size that he'll get to over the next couple of years. Very similar to Chad in terms of how he can run and his core strength and his ability to get forward with his running power. It's pretty impressive for a 16 year old.

**Mark Duffield** (2:55)
There are some familiar names in this team. Sam Gooch in the ruck from Claremont.
Is that any relation to Scott, is it?

**Mick Glassborow** (3:04)
It is. It is. It is. Correct. He's a big ruck forward, mate. So, you know, a bit of a basketball background.
He's been good for us to sort of play to our second back and gets forward. And sort of got a little bit of a Jackson about him, you know, can get in the midfield and get a little bit of contest and gets around the ground fairly well. So he's definitely one that's come on in the program. That's really exciting.

**Mark Duffield** (3:24)
There's a really strong instrumental cohort in this team about eight or nine players, Mick. Tell us about that. And is it the sharks are getting it right in their talent development pathway, or is this just one of those cyclical things that happens, do you think?
