We still got one more topic, Kirkland.
Kirkland (0:02)
I know, let's get on with the next one.
SPEAKER_1 (0:04)
Yeah, can I look at it next week? I'm not throwing these to Dylan, because Dylan's going to be like, Sonic, Transformers, what the fuck are you doing to me?
He's going to look at the news, he's going to see the topics next week.
He cannot speak to these, he cannot speak to these, sorry Taylor. Okay, here's the last three, and we'll do this, let's throw them out there. Live action, Cyberpunk 2027, 2077, in the works at Paramount, so they're making moves. They're going to be making a new live action Ghostbusters, we're going to be called Nightmare on 34th Street in the work from the Sonic writer of Sonic 2 and 3 Then Taylor, you can start us off, you're going to talk about them all, but you can start with this. There's been talks about it, Steven Spielberg is moving into the primary producer role for the next Transformers pick with Michael Bay in early talks to direct. Both these things have been rumored before. They also announced that the GI. Joe Transformers film is cut, that's done, that's over. But obviously Transformers had a heyday with those two, if you don't remember, produced like Spielberg produced those other ones and Bay direct them. So how are you feeling? Are you ready? Do you think they can recapture that magic in your soul or you think it's over, you think it's going to be washed? You think they can't get back there?
Taylor (1:16)
I think Transformers had a brief period there in the 2000s era where it hit and it hit good because again, you're dealing with CGI kind of taken off and all these different ways of just... Oh yeah, different ways of really popping off on the big screen, right? So when you look at what Transformers did, I remember watching some interviews with Michael Bay when they're saying, okay, if we're going to do the Transformers movie, we got to make sure that they have to look good. They got to... That's the biggest part because if they don't look good, people are not going to turn up and it's just going to be absolute shit. And they, like their team fucking did it. And the CGI is phenomenal in those movies.
But I don't know if we're just in that era anymore where a new one will kind of take off. Now, what I personally want, and just the fact that Michael Bay is back blows my mind. But what I want is for Michael Bay to come back and do his true Transformers 6 movie. And I want him to get full reins back on that. But I know that's not the case because he was handed a script and whatnot. And I know- You know this?
SPEAKER_1 (2:28)
Were you talking to Cruise about this?
Taylor (2:30)
Cruise? No, but I know that there was a script that was provided for Michael Bay and he looked at it or whatnot. Because I was reading into the odds of them pursuing that actual 6 movie. And I don't feel like that's necessarily what Michael Bay is going to do. Well, they haven't confirmed it?
SPEAKER_1 (2:46)
Yeah, I don't know. I think that's some speculation on your part. I know the video or Tama, but he's looking at a bunch of scripts. That doesn't mean and how does that bunch of scripts? Well, I thought so.
Taylor (2:56)
And plus, if I write those other Transformers movies that I do not recall what you're talking because I just I just felt like that was his kind of his ammo. I mean, you think you're right in the earth. That just feels like a Michael Bay kind of thing because it just the dialogue just feels a lot like Michael Bay. It does. Yeah. Especially when you look at Ninja Turtles. Again, Michael Bay, it's just the two.
Kirkland (3:16)
They just produced that. I don't think he had produced it.
Taylor (3:19)
I thought he directed the box back.
SPEAKER_1 (3:22)
Technically, he did not. He's only written one thing was a Colin James music video. Oh, wait, no, I was wrong. Thank God that was no producer. Yeah, he's only written one thing for a music video. So as he only has one writer credit, he just has produced a director. So technically, he did not write any of those turtles or Transformers movies.
Okay. So obviously still, he's a director. He has his input, right? He says, oh, let's do this, let's do that. But he didn't technically write the screenplays for any of those. So someone could have hand that script and he's like, yeah, here we go. Because I don't know how you don't make it the sixth one. Like to me, if you're bringing Michael Bay back, I figure clearly trying to go for an audience, you should try and go for that audience. Now, to me, is that audience still there? I don't know. But if you're going to reboot it, to me, if you reboot it, then you go for a different vision. You're just going to reboot with the same guy?
