So, how many competitions do you reckon you've done in your...

**Mark Felix** (0:02)
That's about 400

**Eddie Hall** (0:04)
400 competitions. So, this is the longest duration holding Hurtleys' pillars.

**Mark Felix** (0:08)
I still feel I could beat it.

**Eddie Hall** (0:10)
Now?

**Mark Felix** (0:10)
Yeah, yeah.

**Eddie Hall** (0:11)
Nearly at 60

**Mark Felix** (0:12)
I always think I could beat it, yeah.

**Eddie Hall** (0:13)
So, it's Mark Felix versus Adruna Sardikis.

**Mark Felix** (0:16)
Yeah, he's my actual nemesis right now.

**Eddie Hall** (0:19)
If my son loses his PC and can't play Roblox for a week at 13, he fucking has a meltdown. You were building houses and spear hunting.

**Mark Felix** (0:27)
Yeah, growing up, we call it Bideas.

**Eddie Hall** (0:29)
Mate, this is fascinating. Never knew this about you, Mark. Hello, everyone, welcome back to The Good, The Bad and The Beast. Today's guest is a true Strongman legend, one of the longest competing athletes in the sport of Strongman, known worldwide for his grip and his durability. He's lifted with multiple generations of champions and he's still going strong. Welcome to the podcast, The Miracle Man, Mr. Mark Felix. How are you, sir?

**Mark Felix** (1:03)
I'm good, how are you?

**Eddie Hall** (1:05)
I'm very good, that is a fucking big hand.

**Mark Felix** (1:08)
Yeah, that's why you got so much records and stuff, you know, to grip.

**Eddie Hall** (1:13)
100%.

**Mark Felix** (1:14)
But you still have to work on it, you know what I mean?

**Eddie Hall** (1:16)
Yeah, yeah.

**Mark Felix** (1:16)
Even though you have a big hand, you still have to work on your grip.

**Eddie Hall** (1:18)
Of course.

**Mark Felix** (1:19)
And a lot to do with it.

**Eddie Hall** (1:20)
I've got to say, you've probably got the hands, I've shook hands with a lot of people over the years, a lot of giants, a lot of champions. You have got the biggest hands I have ever come across.

**Mark Felix** (1:30)
Well, I've never met anyone with bigger hands than me yet.

**Eddie Hall** (1:33)
But sir, didn't they measure your circumference of like, you know, like from your thumb to your...

**Mark Felix** (1:39)
It's like an A4, A4 pitch.

**Eddie Hall** (1:41)
I am flabbergasted by the size of your hands. Where have you come from today, Mark?

**Mark Felix** (1:47)
I've come from Blackburn in Lancashire.

**Eddie Hall** (1:50)
Blackburn in Lancashire. So that brings home for me because my very first Strongman contest was Blackburn, Lancashire, back in 2000 and I was in 19, so it would have been 2007

**Mark Felix** (2:07)
Yeah.

**Eddie Hall** (2:08)
And you handed out the trophies.

**Mark Felix** (2:11)
Yep.

**Eddie Hall** (2:11)
Do you remember?

**Mark Felix** (2:12)
Yeah, I remember handing out the trophy and also when we did those in them, up north in the, what's, Northwich as well.

**Eddie Hall** (2:23)
UK, Northwich Strongest Man, wasn't it?

**Mark Felix** (2:26)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would always look at you and I was like, there was always something out with you though.

**Eddie Hall** (2:31)
Yeah.

**Mark Felix** (2:32)
You're always keen.
Like you're always searching for something. You're always searching for something. Like if everything, yeah, you're trying to pick up so many stuff. Yeah.

**Eddie Hall** (2:44)
Well, I was, I mean, I was complete amateur.

**Mark Felix** (2:46)
Yeah.

**Eddie Hall** (2:47)
Back in 2007 and then me and you, and then I continued down my amateur line up until I was like 20, which would have been 2009 We competed at the Northwich Strongest Man.

**Mark Felix** (2:59)
Yeah. Yeah.

**Eddie Hall** (3:00)
And that's the first time I competed against you.

**Mark Felix** (3:02)
You competed against me and you destroyed me in the overhead.

**Eddie Hall** (3:04)
In the overhead, but you destroyed me in everything else.

**Mark Felix** (3:07)
Yep.

**Eddie Hall** (3:08)
But I remember, I mean, I remember just getting into Strongman like 2007, 2009, and you were a top boy. When did you come fourth at World's Strongest Man?

**Mark Felix** (3:17)
In 2006

**Eddie Hall** (3:18)
2006 So you were right out there, top 10 in the world.

**Mark Felix** (3:22)
Yeah, top 10

**Eddie Hall** (3:22)
And I came into the amateur, competing against you, and I was like, wow, this is amazing, competing against Mark Felix.

**Mark Felix** (3:28)
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was amazing. I enjoy it. I enjoy competing over the years. It's always drive me. I mean, even though I'm like almost 60 years old, you still look at ways of improving. As long as you keep doing your best and just going out there and always look up ways of improving, you know, that's how you grow. You just keep doing it.
