Let's move on to Four Thoughts on Sport to get us rolling this morning. And thought one is on the AFL laying ground rules for compensation picks for clubs whose top five draft picks get diluted by bids on Port Adelaide's Maggie Cochran and Carlton's Cody Walker, which are expected to come at the very top end of this AFL national draft. This is significant for West Coast. They will pick up an early second round draft pick that will be somewhere in the 20s, assuming they draft a player with their first pick in the draft. They are overwhelmingly likely to do that. So this will give the Eagles three picks inside top 30 Critical picks that must be used well to make their rebuild continue to progress. Thought two is on Brisbane's coach search and internal candidate Cameron Bruce remains the hot favourite to succeed Chris Fagan. And the odds of getting the job for Bruce got shorter after Adelaide's Murray Davis withdrew from the running after just one meeting with the Lions. Thought three on Trent Rivers.

So Trent has had a dream fulfilled by the trade, which brings him back to WA to play for the Eagles, the team he barracked for as a youngster. A question for Eagles fans today. Where does Trent play?

So he's played a lot of footy at halfback. The Eagles have plenty of halfback flankers. Might he end up on a wing? He's a hard running big body type. He's 25 years old. It's going to be interesting to see how they arrange all of the potential running backs and where the spare ones go.

If they deem all of them to be in their best 23 And finally, Fourth Thought. We mentioned Scotty Boland yesterday. Well, he did it again for the Aussies in another rain shortened day in the second test in South Africa. The hosts have slumped to five for 97 Boland has four of the five wickets to fall. Now, I know test cricket can be done and dusted quickly in this fast forward era of the game, but the Aussies are going to have to get a wiggle on if they're going to get an outcome in this one. Two days down, a lot lost to rain, and one innings still only half over. 487 736 736 is the text line. 1312 55 is the Barra and O'Day open line. Barra and O'Day, because little things are everything. After the break, we'll be talking footy with the ages. Pete Ryan, Made in WA for WA. This is Mornings with Mark Duffield on S-E-N-W-A.
