Let's move on to four thoughts on sport to get us rolling this morning. And thought one is on goal coast coach Damien Dimmer Hardwick, escaping action from the AFL over comments about the umpiring in his team's loss to Geelong in Geelong last weekend. Now, Hardwick acknowledged he's a horrible loser.
He acknowledged he's been on a tight leash for about five years because of other comments. So I guess the question is, if he's been on a tight leash for that long, why are we letting off with a warning this time? Probably because the AFL bank rolls the Gold Coast Suns and would be effectively be fining themselves. Dimas said he had a man-to-man conversation with Greg Swan.
Man-to-man, more like sore loser to toothless tiger. Thought two is on the FIFA World Cup. And a question for fans out there. Can anyone remember a bigger match the Socceroos have played in than this match against the United States? On Saturday in Seattle. Now, I know the Socceroos made it into the knockout rounds in 2006, but this is a blockbuster game against the host nation in the country that has turned hype into an art form. How good would it be to knock off the Yanks? Thought three is on Freemantle's Thursday night blockbuster against Geelong. We'll be talking to Danny Lately about it later in the show.
What the Dockers are fighting for over the next month is the right to manage their list in the run into finals. They don't want to slip out of the top two. So anytime they come up against a team that can mathematically tip them out, there is a bit more than just four points on the line. This is one of those games. And finally, thought four is on Rugby League. And we'll be checking in with Perth Bears assistant coach Ben Gardner on the show straight after the break to find out how the Bears list build is coming along.
