Well, I'd hope to really talk about a great Tiger weekend, where they were facing the White Sox, the first-place team that could have taken over first place, which would have sent this town into a excited, just into a tizzy. Instead, they get swept, and they really did miss the two starting pitchers that they lost, because Jackson Job, the rookie, was terrible in the opener, lost 9-5.
Troy Melton lost the Saturday game. And today, the Korean import, Drew Anderson, had a 3-0 lead and blew that, gave up a walk after an 0-2 count, and then a two-run homer to the ninth hitter in the lineup, a guy named Romo, hit 132 on the season, and then Tyler Holtan, who's been very good in the bullpen, came in in relief and was terrible, gave up a three runs, homerun to Murakami, who's that great rookie for the White Sox, who was battling our rookie, Kevin McConnacle, for rookie of the year, hit a homerun, and then they got within a run, and wagons back, gave up a solo homerun, and they lose by, was it seven to six, I think it was seven to five.

In any case, as awful as they were this weekend, they are still right in that wild card race. So the season isn't over. I think next season looks more promising than maybe the rest of this season looks.

Yeah, maybe we can get Scoobble or something.

Why does next year look more promising? I'm just curious.

You know what I do? I kind of go back, and maybe this is a very unscientific way, but I say, how far is this team from being titled contingent? So I look back to the 84 Tigers, and I say, how do we go this team position by position? Well, if you look at the catcher, you got Dylan Dingler is easily the equal of Lance Parrish, at least at this point in his career.
Now, Kevin McConaugle leads the American League in war, which is the number one offensive statistic, or not offensive, overall statistic. It values all facets of the game, fielding, running, hitting, and he's only behind Pete Crow Armstrong of Chicago in the entire major leagues. So he's having an amazing year, better than anybody could have ever hoped for, and look at what his future holds.
