The Knicks training camp plans. Training camp is right around the corner, and the Knicks will have to finalize a number of moves once they get there. But before I talk about the Knicks training camp plans, I want to talk about something related to those plans. The Westchester Knicks and the ton of moves they have been making recently. They have also made official these following trades.

Shout out to the Westchester Knicks on the AppX for giving us this following information. The Westchester Knicks have traded the returning player rights to Isaiah Roby and a future second round pick via Cleveland in the NBA G League draft to the Delaware Bluecoats in exchange to have the acquired returning player rights to Igor Milicic Jr. and Thierry Darlin.

The Westchester Knicks have also acquired the returning player rights to guards Jaden Akins and Samir Torrance from the Motor City Cruise in exchange for a future first round pick via Iowa and their own future second round pick in the NBA G League draft.

These deals have been made official and the Westchester Knicks officially posted this on the AppX, showing everybody that this is what the Knicks are getting back in these trades.

Now I know what you're thinking. This is great recap, but how does the Westchester Knicks and the trades they make have anything to do with the Knicks and their plans for training camp? Well, here's why.

Shout out to Yahoo Sports for giving us this following information. Other players who could get invited to the Knicks training camp. The Westchester Knicks have made a flurry of moves recently. Over the past week, Westchester acquired the rights to Samir Torrance, Jaden Akins and Mitchell Mascari, in addition to Igor Milicic Jr and Thierry Darlin.

Now out of all the players I just named, only two of those players have a chance to make the Knicks training camp roster. One of those players is Jaden Akins, and if the name sounds familiar, it should. We recently saw him play for the Knicks during the Summer League. According to Yahoo Sports, Akins is the most likely of the other players to earn a training camp invite and compete for a two-way slot. Akins went undrafted out of Michigan State in 2025 and spent last year with the G-League's Motor City Crews. The 6-foot-4 guard, who was an up-next participant at the NBA's All-Star weekend in February, played for the Knicks Summer League team in July. He averaged 11.3 points over three Las Vegas appearances, scoring 21 points against Golden State, although it took him 20 shots to do that, and in that game he shot 36.1% from the field and 25% from the three-point range. The other player who could potentially get a training camp deal is Mike Mascari. He could get a camp deal, but it's far from guaranteed. Westchester acquired his G League rights from the Stockton Kings. The 6'5 wing, known for his shooting, went undrafted out of Drake, though he drained 2.33s per game at 42.5% with Stockton. However, he struggled mightily with the Kings Summer League squad this past July. Oh, and if you were wondering why the Knicks haven't made it official yet with regard to the signing of Igor Milicic Jr, it's because of this reason. Milicic is the first player to agree to an Exhibit 10 deal with the New York Knicks. But, New York can't officially sign players to training camp deals, as the Knicks only have 13 players on standard contracts. NBA rules require teams to reach the 14th minimum before signing players to these types of deals. They also must fill all of their three two-way spots. This is why, as of right now, New York has been silent and hasn't made it official yet that they've signed Igor Milicic Jr. to an Exhibit 10 deal. But once they finalize this roster, they'll make those announcements.
