Rizzuto (1:42)

Been seeing that story on the news about the postal worker who was just throwing out letters.

Moon (1:46)

Oh yeah, I saw a number that was pretty significant. And then I saw a picture. Did you see the picture? Yeah. Oh.

Rizzuto (1:51)

That's what caught my eye just going over some of the local news stories here. So a St. Louis postal worker is facing federal charges after he secretly dumped 30,000 pieces of mail over to your stretch instead of actually delivering it.

Moon (2:11)

Was this just like a, oh, I'm running behind on a Friday and I don't want to do this?

Rizzuto (2:15)

I have no idea.

Moon (2:16)

So I'll just dump it.

Rizzuto (2:18)

So this guy is named Armand Page. He's 54 He works at the Maryville Gardens Post Office on Merrimack in South St. Louis. So they're saying that between roughly 2024 and late April of this year, he was just dumping mail into various vacant, overgrown lots across the area rather than completing his routes.

I wonder if he was just starting and going, you know what, I don't feel like this today.

Moon (2:47)

That's too hot today. Yeah.

Rizzuto (2:48)

It's raining. He's looking at five years in jail and federal prison and a $250,000 fine or both. Now, the indictment comes months after people discovered, like just piles of mail dumped in North St. Louis back in April.

And it wasn't that people were going to the post office going, hey, I don't think I'm getting my mail. It's just people found stacks of mail.

Lern (3:17)

That sucks. Think of all the checks and the bills and the bills, letters from somebody that's dead.

Rizzuto (3:24)

That's well, you know, I'm thinking about the bill situation. I'm pretty prompt with paying my bills. When I get it, when I get the bill, I pay it immediately. My credit is fantastic.

Lern (3:35)

Good for you.

Rizzuto (3:38)

I have excellent credit. Yes.

Lern (3:39)

Everybody stand up.

Rizzuto (3:45)

What a hero.

Moon (3:53)

There it is. All right.

Lern (3:58)

You get your FICO score. That's what you do when you get the e-mail.

Rizzuto (4:02)

My FICO score is being affected.

Lern (4:03)

Oh, man.

Rizzuto (4:04)

If I'm not paying that Amherst bill on time, I'm getting charged late fees.

Moon (4:07)

That's right. And it's going to collections. Yeah, we know. We know you're the best.

Rizzuto (4:10)

This guy. This guy.

Moon (4:12)

This guy.

Rizzuto (4:14)

Well, the USPS Inspector General Audit revealed a single, apparently there's been a lot of mail problems here in the area. It's not just this guy.

So they sent in an Inspector General and found that a single St. Louis Distribution Center logged over 2.5 million pieces of delayed mail on a single day, setting an absolute record for the largest mail backlog in USPS Audit history.

Lern (4:44)

Oh, nice.

Rizzuto (4:45)

Yeah. So in addition to this guy dumping mail and vacant lots, you got this problem.

Lern (4:53)

So, man, do you guys get excited when like you get a piece of snail mail that you weren't expecting? Because I still do. This is like a little thing that I still romanticize in 2026
