If you had to say, this is an interesting one, because I just saw a story that I'm fascinated by a little bit. What's the best impression in the history of impressions?

Oh, I think you, I know the story you're talking about too. The best impression?

What do you think, like, when you think of, like, a great impression of someone? Like, because I think one does stand out. I think it's a little cliched, but I think of all the great impressionists who've ever done impressions, and I'm sure there's a ton.
You know, Bill Hader does a really good Al Pacino. Like, there's a bunch of them. But, like, the most popular, obvious, seen it a million times, especially if you're a sports fan, kind of giving it away. What do you think is the best impression of any sports figure in the history of impressions?

I mean, it's Frank Caliendo just doing anybody.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:24)
Well, Frank Caliendo, but doing specifically. What's the one that made Frank Caliendo?

**Craig Carton** (1:29)
Ah, all right, I know what story you're talking about, but I think it's Barclay. His Barclay was terrible.

You think his Barclay is better than his John Madden?

**Craig Carton** (1:36)
That's terrible.

See, I think Frank Caliendo doing John Madden is the best impression.

**Craig Carton** (1:42)
Well, the Turducken one is also very funny.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:43)
Just everything. And over here, I think he does an incredible job.

**Craig Carton** (1:48)
And his Jim Rome is great.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:49)
His Jim Rome is really good. Frank Caliendo is great.
He does a million of them great. His John Gruden is tremendous as well.

Actually, you know what?

That's not the most famous. That's his best one.

It could be. But I think because of the popularity of it and everything, I do think the John Madden one is a quintessential impression. And I just saw a story that John Madden hated it.
And John Madden wanted to sue Frank Caliendo. And apparently, he called Charles Barkley, and this is years ago now, obviously. But he called Charles Barkley looking for Charles Barkley to join the lawsuit with him, and say, let's sue Frank Caliendo.
And Charles Barkley was like, no. He's like, I think it's like, impersonation is the best form of flarties. Blah, blah, blah, blah. There you go. Nailed it. There's... What's the segment they do? Idiots with Idioms. Yeah, there's a perfect one.

**Craig Carton** (2:47)
Listen on the way home, he's like, got it. Got that.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:50)
Got that one.
But, yeah, so Barkley didn't want to sue. He was flattered by it. And I guess he ended up not getting sued, but Frank Caliendo is just starting to tell the story because Barkley is starting to tell the story. But for years, John Madden, and I thought every one of them were in good fun. I don't think he was ever mean or made fun of John Madden in any way. I was surprised and almost disappointed in a way to hear that John Madden hated that impression.

Also, just because I know for a fact, not for a fact, but we assume John Madden is a fun-loving guy. Like, he always felt like he was cool.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:26)
No, yeah, that's like an anti-John Madden thing.

**Craig Carton** (3:29)
Yeah, and I loved it. I never thought he was making fun of anyone.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:34)
No, and I'm trying to think, like, John Madden sometimes made fun of himself, right, a little bit. He did, isn't there a scene in Little Giants where he kind of does the telestrator and kind of has fun with it a little bit?

**Craig Carton** (3:48)
Well, I think part of what made John Madden funny was also what made him great, was he pointed out the obvious, but to a fan that doesn't know the sport, that's what you want.
