Come on, come on, now touch me, babe. Can't you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Chris McMonigle (0:13)
Yeah!
SPEAKER_1 (0:15)
Why won't you tell me what she said?
Craig Carton (0:18)
Did you happen to see the pretty girl?
SPEAKER_1 (0:19)
What was that promise that you made?
Craig Carton (0:21)
That was discovered at the Ole Miss game?
SPEAKER_1 (0:24)
Now I'm gonna love you.
Chris McMonigle (0:26)
Alright, what's up?
Craig Carton (0:27)
Did you see the pretty girl Sarah Smith?
Chris McMonigle (0:29)
I see every pretty girl, especially those named Sarah.
Craig Carton (0:33)
So having, that's right, that's your beautiful wife, having worked for Fox Sports TV and others, I can tell you that there's a deal amongst cameramen, and women I guess, that do these college games. And I think the NFL guys do it as well, but I've only heard it through college. Let's assume that cameramen for every sporting event do it. And what it is, it's kind of a secret little society amongst cameramen, where before every game, they each put like a $5 bill in a pot. Everybody's in for $5, okay?
And whichever cameraman can get the close up of the pretty girl who's into the game, whether that because she's cheering or she's upset, and it gets on TV, that cameraman gets the pot for that game. And it's an old school thing amongst cameramen to make, I guess the game more interesting for them because they've got some money on which one of us is going to get the hot girl on camera, okay?
So Ole Miss is playing Louisville this weekend, as I'm sure you're aware, and it's like 25-22, it's a close game, second half, and they find a beautiful co-ed in the crowd. Her name is Sarah Smith.
The internet blows up. Oh my God, who's this hot gal? Yo, what sorority is she in? I'm going to shoot my shot of this guy. So people find, or it's not hard these days, right? Facial recognition or Instagram, whatever it is, and she gets like 50,000 new followers and thousands of DMs. I'd let you bankrupt me. I want you, all this kind of stuff, right? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So it made me remember, and I want to see if, can you remember the last two women by name who had that moment at a college football game where they became uber-famous overnight, and yet it didn't work out from the way they had hoped?
Chris McMonigle (2:47)
Do you have any recollection? The Alabama one. Great answer. I'll help you with the names.
Craig Carton (2:52)
So AJ McCarran was the quarterback. Catherine Webb was the gal.
They're married today.
Chris McMonigle (3:00)
So that worked out.
Craig Carton (3:01)
But he doesn't play football anymore. I think he's an insurance salesman. Or maybe he's on like SEC Network or something.
But his football career came to an end. But they're still together.
Chris McMonigle (3:12)
That's a great story.
Craig Carton (3:13)
Well, he's not like good at football.
Chris McMonigle (3:15)
But she loved him anyway. But they're together.
Craig Carton (3:17)
She stayed with him anyway.
Chris McMonigle (3:19)
She wasn't in love with the football player. She was in love with the man.
Craig Carton (3:22)
Then of course comes the most famous of all the gals that have been discovered at college football. Because Pamela Anderson was discovered at a Toronto Orgonauts game in the CFL as the LeBlats girl of the game. Totally random, and that set her off to stardom obviously, right? Do you remember a young woman who actually came into this building, sat with me and Boomer for an hour, and were the only place she told her story, tears streaming down her face, the threat of walking out mid-interview. But she stayed, and she told her story.
Jenn Sterger, whose claim to fame was not the boob job, which she was at the time, not the fact that she was the hot Florida state football fan. It was that Brent Musburger started guffawing over her, and had foam coming out of his mouth, ogling her on TV. Jenn Sterger is the gal that came to work for the New York Jets, who also had to suffer the indignity of Brett Favre, sending her pictures of his Johnson.
Chris McMonigle (4:32)
I do remember that, obviously.
Craig Carton (4:34)
How could you forget?
Chris McMonigle (4:34)
How could I forget that?
Craig Carton (4:35)
Now, to this day, Jenn Sterger also married my buddy, Cody Decker. Right, that's how I...
Chris McMonigle (4:41)
And they got divorced. Yes, and she did stand-up comedy.
