Welcome to Game Of Roses. This is PaceCase.

This is BachelorClues. Today, we're gonna be bringing you the second half of all these Love Is Blind, Bostonian rookies. But before we get into that, we have A, some biz, B, two pieces of Bachelor Nation News that we're also gonna be hitting. Some interesting developments happening within our beloved game, within the nation.
Lizzy Pace (0:25)
One of them I'm very excited about, and I told you to not tell me yet for spoilers.
Chad Kultgen (0:31)
All right.
Lizzy Pace (0:31)
I can't wait. What's our business A?
Chad Kultgen (0:35)
The biz is, right now, you can buy I Love Cleveland T-Shirts on our websites and various locations. If you are so inclined, they're only gonna be around for about another week, then they disappear forever. So if you love Cleveland, or you at least want to convey that you do, like a player might have to be forced to do.
SPEAKER_3 (0:56)
With an exclamation point.
Chad Kultgen (0:59)
You simply put on this T-Shirt. If you're an incoming player, and you think you might have to perform an I Love Cleveland, you could simply put the shirt on and then not have to do any of the actual work. The shirt doesn't for you, you see.
Lizzy Pace (1:11)
Yeah. And if you just love Cleveland, that's another opportunity for you that you might just...
Chad Kultgen (1:18)
That seems like a smaller group.
Lizzy Pace (1:21)
I don't know. They had a whole Love Is Blind season, right?
Chad Kultgen (1:26)
Was it Cleveland or was it just Ohio?
Lizzy Pace (1:29)
It might have just been Ohio. Anywhere from within the state. Yeah, because they went O-H-I-O. Well, you get the gist.
SPEAKER_4 (1:35)
Yeah.
Lizzy Pace (1:38)
Get those this week. Yeah. gameofroses.org.
Chad Kultgen (1:46)
I think that's right. Now, let's move on to our Bachelor Nation News at the top of this rookie's episode. I'm going to share the screen with you.
Lizzy Pace (1:56)
I'm so nervous. Boom.
Chad Kultgen (1:58)
Our first news is...
Lizzy Pace (1:59)
Not about this one.
Chad Kultgen (2:01)
It comes to us from Bachelor Nation Scoop, but this has been reported to other places as well. We're looking at Bachelor Nation Scoop's Instagram right now. Bachelor producers send cease and desist to Chris Harrison's new show, The Vow. Fox Nation fires back. So we'll scroll through this. I don't know that we need to read it all. The gist of it is Warner Bros. TV and Fox Nation are butting heads over the latter's upcoming series, The Vow, hosted by former Bachelor Chris Harrison, so on and so forth. All this shit. It's basically Warner Bros. saying, they sent a cease and desist saying that you can't use roses and you're trying to make fun of The Bachelor, quote, a plain attempt to capitalize on and quote, ride on the coattails of Warner Bros. instantly recognizable intellectual property of the franchise's goodwill, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. They're claiming that they have violated everything. A legal note with the subject line cease and desist regarding The Vow, unauthorized use of Bachelor intellectual property, says that the marketing around the new series capitalizes on WB's intellectual property and goodwill for the franchise.
Fox Nation responded in a letter on September 24th, writing that WBTV does not hold any rights over, quote, falling roses motif.
Lizzy Pace (3:13)
I love this. I love this fight. Yeah.
Chad Kultgen (3:17)
Or the words The Bachelor when used colloquially to describe a single man. This is correct. The fact that Warner Brothers has sent this and then they play the little trailer here so that you can watch it if you like.
The fact that Warner Brothers has sent this cease and desist is absolutely insane. I kind of get it when they're trying to bully some of us, the micro shows out there. Maybe we'll be scared enough to be like, oh, we don't want to ruffle the feathers of Big Daddy Warner Brothers.
This though, they're going after another studio. They're going after Lionsgate and Lionsgate is like, fuck off, bro. What are you talking about? It's bizarre to me.
Lizzy Pace (3:58)
And you know they had those conversations before putting it out, I'm sure. Is this infringing on the IP? Because it's clearly, quote unquote, riding on the coattails.
Chad Kultgen (4:09)
Yeah. But also it's like, you can do that.
You can reference other shows through motifs, through imagery.
Lizzy Pace (4:17)
Roses are the number one most popular flower in the whole world. Did you know that?
Chad Kultgen (4:22)
I didn't know that.
