Kim Clijsters (0:06)

Hi, everyone. Welcome to a new episode of Love All. Both Blair and I are not in our usual setup.

I am in the beautiful state of Vermont. Blair, I know you're in Florida. How has your few days in Florida been?

Blair Henley (0:21)

Oh my gosh, I feel like this is Love All fall break edition, which by the way, fall break was not a thing I had in school growing up. My kids have an entire week off for fall break and they also have an entire week for Thanksgiving, which probably says a lot about the American education system. Do they go to school? I don't even know, but I am loving my week in Florida. It's been great to see my parents. We spent the day fishing yesterday, which is one of my favorite things. So it's been fantastic. It is still disgustingly hot down here. I can see the fall leaves in the background, Kim. It doesn't even look real where you are.

Kim Clijsters (0:57)

It is.

It's very, very pretty. The foliage on the trees, everything is changing colors, and the bright is reds and orange and yellow, and it's very, very nice. So we've actually enjoyed, it's rare that the five of us have a weekend off. The kids had Monday off because of Columbus Day. Unfortunately, we don't have the whole week off, but they had to go back to school.

Blair Henley (1:20)

They're learning something.

Kim Clijsters (1:22)

They are, well, yes. It's questionable. But yeah, but we've been hiking. We've been just, there's like no service. You know, I only have like a little bit of like Wi-Fi in the house, but there's like no cell service. So when we walk around, like we can't, you know, use our phones. Yeah, we just, you know, played games, watched a movie, like hiked outside, you know, went to the little town, like they have the most amazing bookstore in the town of Manchester and just really enjoyed like a good three weeks together. And my daughter Jada was like, like before, three weeks or three days, three, three days, sorry, three days. And before we left, Jada was like, what do I have to go? And I don't really, you know, want to go and there's nothing to do there. And then when we were here and like every so often, she was like, I'm really glad I, you know, came with you guys and it's been so nice. We spent time together and oh, I love this. And so yeah, she's, you know, the kids are starting to like the lifestyle and the people have been so nice here.

So I love the state of Vermont.

Blair Henley (2:25)

That is so cool. I, yeah, again, as somebody who is not gonna be experiencing fall foliage anytime soon, that just looks gorgeous. So glad to be back with you, Kim, from where we're snowbirding today. You're still, you're an actual snowbird. I'm in Florida waiting for the snowbirds to arrive, but we've got lots of, well, lots of things to discuss in general.

We've got a Q&A episode, as promised, but before we get to the questions and the answers, Kim, I'm just gonna run through some of the things that have happened in the past week, and I want you to pick out what stuck out to you. And I wanna start off with Zheng Qinwen, winning her first WTA 1000 event in Beijing in front of the home crowd, singing karaoke during the trophy ceremony, and then doing one of the most iconic trophy shoots I think I have ever seen at the Great Wall of China. That was unbelievable. So, Qinwen is back, and we're so excited about that. And then on the men's side, Carlos Alcaraz made a bet with his team that if he won Tokyo, the whole team would grow a mustache. He debuted the mustache in Shanghai, and it was everything one could have imagined.

And more, I don't know, or less depends on your perspective. To me, Kim, I'm going to wait to see what you have to say. He looked like Enigo Montoya from Princess Pride. Do you know when he says, I am Enigo Montoya, you kill my father, prepare to die? Oh my gosh, it's Carlos Alcaraz. Anyway, all right, hold your thoughts there. I'm going to run through a few more things. The men, we talked about it last week, they are still feeling all the feelings, Kim. You had Francis Tiafo breaking rackets, Arthur Feis, Althofis breaking rackets. You had Alex Bublik breaking rackets, punching water coolers. Even Carlos Alcaraz had a tennis ball rant en route to the upset of the week, for sure. It was taken out by Zizou Berg's friend of the pod, Stefano Citsipas is playing tennis like it's 2019, taking out Taylor Fritz. It's all happening, Kim, at the end of the season.
