This is Live Bet Sunday on VSiN, the Sports Betting Network.

Scott Seidenberg back here with you. Live Bet Sunday continues on VSiN, the Sports Betting Network. We are at the end of the first quarter here on Sunday Night Football. The New York Giants with a 7-0 lead over the Dallas Cowboys. Your live line right now, Giants minus four and a half, with a live total of 43 and a half. The Giants scoring on a Cam Scadaboo three-yard touchdown run on their opening possession where they marched right down the field against the Dallas Cowboys. A lot of 12 and 13 personnel, multiple tight end sets, played a little bully ball, a little big boy football under John Harbaugh here. Giants marching right down the field. Cowboys have done nothing on their two possessions. And now the Giants on their second possession have the football at their own 31-yard line facing a third and one. We'll see if they can extend the drive when we return to start the second quarter. Tomorrow night, Monday Night Football will wrap up week one here of the NFL season. Another divisional game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. Currently Kansas City a two and a half point favorite. Low total of 43 and a half. Joining us right now to break down this game from a Chiefs perspective, Todd Leabo from Sports Radio 810 in Kansas City. Joins us on the Progressive Guest Line. Todd, thanks so much for giving us a couple minutes and the big question that everybody wants to know before we get to tomorrow's game.

How healthy is Patrick Mahomes? How has he looked in practice, in the joint practices, and from everything that you have seen, your confidence level on the health status here of quarterback Patrick Mahomes?

Todd Leabo (1:34)

I mean, I'm very confident that he's healthy and ready to go. Pretty amazing that he attacked the offseason way that you knew he would, because that's the way he is. And he was like just ahead of schedule everywhere. And they didn't have him out there doing too much stuff in the OTAs, but he was around, right? He wasn't getting contact or anything like that. But when he got to camp, the very first day of camp, they said, he's going to get all the reps. All right, well, OK. Now, Andy always plays his starters and always plays his starting quarterback a little bit in the preseason. And while many programs don't do that, there are a lot of quarterbacks who haven't played in years in the preseason.

Patrick kind of wanted to play a little bit, but they thought it was best not to, and we'll find out. But it was funny on, I guess we had Wednesday, Thursday was Wednesday because of the Monday night. So when they had their availability, Patrick gets asked a lot of questions about making through rehab and all that. He'd answer all these things. And when he walked out of the room, he was just kind of shaking his head going, that's the last time we're talking about my leg, right? Just kind of joking off the podium. So he's done with the talk. He's ready to go play and we'll see what it's like, because he's always played a little bit in the preseason. He's never come off an ACL like this. He's ready to go, but the time will tell. The Denver Broncos defense is something to behold, and they're going to be attacking the Chiefs offensive line with an undrafted left tackle who's a rookie, making his first ever start because Josh Simmons has been ruled out. So that's going to be the harder part. Is Mahomes healthy enough to run away from Nick Benito, I guess?

Scott Seidenberg (3:04)

Yeah, that is going to be a big question. You mentioned him not playing in the preseason.

It is a new slash old offense, right? So Eric Bienneme back as the offensive coordinator, replacing Matt Nagy. It's a very similar system. Obviously, it's something that Mahomes is comfortable with. But is there any, you know, hesitation because you would have liked to see him get some reps with the new pieces that he has with Kenneth Walker amongst others? Or is he just going to pick up right where he left off in this Bienneme offense?

Todd Leabo (3:35)

Well, he took every first team rep in practice. And Andy Reid was quick to point out to us the other day that he's actually thrown more passes this off season to Rashid Rice than he did in the other off season. So, I mean, you know, they got some data on everything they've done to get ready for this. But none of it is a real game. Now practice, you know, preseason games aren't real games either. But it is an step up in speed because they can hit you. They'll be hitting you in practice, right? I mean, Eric Bienneme is like a comfortable old shoe. He was here before. It's still Andy Reid's offense. The exciting part for Patrick and probably most Chiefs fans is the fact that Kenneth Walker is the running back. They have been so poor at running back the last couple of years. We would set up in the press box, we're on the ninth floor at Arrowhead and you would watch with your binoculars, you'd see a great big hole open up and then it would just get closed because either Kareem Hunt was too slow to get there or Isaiah Pacheco picked the wrong hole or ran into his guard or something like that. They have just not been good enough at running back. Kenneth Walker is finally getting a chance to be the bell cow. He's always sharing time up in Seattle and he didn't play much in the preseason, honestly either. So this is going to be like unwrapping a Christmas day present and seeing what they've got. But Chief Sands are excited about all that and Rishi Rice, obviously has his issues off the field and wasn't there for the first six weeks last year.
