Coming to you from the Circus Sportsbook here in downtown Las Vegas, I'm Scott Seidenberg. This is Live Bet Sunday here on VSiN, The Sports Betting Network. You guys can contribute to the program. Just hit me up on Twitter, at Scott's On Air. You can tag us all on the network, at VSiN Live. There's plenty of Major League Baseball to talk about. We also have Sunday Night Baseball coming up, so we'll get you the best bets for the game that's coming up later on tonight, which will be, let's see, we have the Reds and the Cubs coming your way about an hour from now at Wrigley Field. The Red Hot Cubs led by the soon to be National League Most Valuable Player in Pete Crow Armstrong. We have a couple of games in progress right now. Late action, ninth inning, Mets bottom of the ninth trailing 6-3 against the Astros. The Orioles a 7-5 lead over the A's, bottom of the sixth in Sacramento, bottom of the seventh in Anaheim. The Angels trailing the Phillies 2-1. But it was a big football weekend. Yesterday was week zero of the college football season. We'll react to all the action that we saw yesterday. The upset win by Bill Belichick and North Carolina over TCU in Dublin, Ireland. And the late game here in Las Vegas, which featured Memphis upsetting UNLV in come from behind fashion, as those two teams were battling for the leg up in the race to be the group of six representative in the college football playoff. We'll talk about Memphis' chances. And maybe now UNLV's chances, even with that loss, can they still get there? Might be dicey. But we have NFL News front and center. Yes, rosters are being cut. Teams are trying to get down to the 53-man requirement. And we have some movement on the injured reserve and pup lists. And now we're finding out which players have been placed on the commissioner's exempt list. Josh Jacobs of the Green Bay Packers will not be active to start the season, at least for right now. He's not on the 53-man roster for the Packers. He cannot practice, cannot be at the facility. He will still get paid. But he has been put on the commissioner's exempt list, as he wasn't found guilty, but he was charged with two misdemeanors from an alleged incident back in May. And so the initial court date is in November. The NFL doesn't have to wait for that. Let's see how this process plays itself out. But right now, the Green Bay Packers will be without. They're starting running back Josh Jacobs for now, it looks like, to start the season. The big news though, is the return of Aaron Donald to the Los Angeles Rams. That's right. The move that was rumored a few weeks ago, as Aaron Donald was ramping up his workouts in anticipation of possibly unretiring. It is now official, as Aaron Donald coming out of retirement to join the Los Angeles Rams, a one year $20 million deal with playoff incentives that could raise the total value to $30 million.
Aaron Donald now teams up with Miles Garrett as the Rams become the first team in NFL history to enter a season with multiple players who have won multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards. The Rams were already the favorite to win the Super Bowl, and their odds have gotten shorter. And the Sportsbook liability has gotten larger. The Rams right now to win the Super Bowl are plus 500 up on DraftKings. The Buffalo Bill is your second favorite at 10 to 1
This Rams team is stacked. And at this point, you look at this roster and you think anything short of a Super Bowl appearance is a failure. It's the final year of Matthew Stafford before they give way to Ty Simpson, the rookie that they drafted, to eventually take over for him. You have to maximize this window right now with this roster right now. You made the trade for Miles Garrett so that you can get the most out of this season, the final year of Matthew Stafford. And now with Aaron Donald coming out of retirement to assist in Miles Garrett in that defense, it is a scary proposition to every single team on this Rams schedule. Already going into this year, when I did my trench report, I had the Los Angeles Rams as the number one trench team in the NFL. And that was without Aaron Donald. They were the number one ranked team in my trench report. Number one in run blocking, number two in run defense, number 28 in pass blocking, and number two in pass rush. That's going to change. They'll be number one in pass rush and maybe number one in run defense. This team is just overwhelming in the trenches now that you factor in Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald.
