Cruising along, week one, College Football. I'm Dustin Swedelson. This is Live Bet Saturday on VSiN, the Sports Betting Network. While we were in break, Arch Manning threw an interception in the end zone with six seconds to go. We go to the locker rooms in Austin, Texas. Longhorns lead the Bobcats of Texas State 28 to 7
Looking at your number right now in that game between those two, Texas is currently laying... Oh, it just went off the board here. Where is it? Texas is laying 34.5, total 62.5.
Man, I'm on the over. I know people on the over. We needed that touchdown right before the half for that over to feel good. I don't think we're dead. In-game number is still a point higher than what we bet, but it is concerning nonetheless. Arkansas is finally on the board with 36 seconds to go in the first. They lead North Alabama 7-0. They were laying 40.5. It's now a 30.5 point spread. So, worth noting there, I just took a little, like we're talking $10 bet. North Alabama 66-1 on the money line for fun here. I just, I think it's odd how Arkansas wasn't able to push them around in the first couple drives of this game. So, we'll see what happens here. I don't think North Alabama is really like a competitive team, but I want to have a little fun money line sweat here for some crazy magic as we are in action for College Football Week 1
Looks like Dante Moore ran and did not pick up a first down. Oregon's punting it back to Boise, down 17-7. Oh, man, Oregon is just a mess right now. This is so non-Dan Lanning-like. They're laying four and a half, which we laid about 10 minutes ago on the show, five minutes ago on the show.
Fifty-one and a half is your in-game total.
I don't understand what's happening here, but Boise State, I did not think would be hanging like this, yet here we are. We are about to get started or we did just get started in Durham, North Carolina, weather delay, pushing back Duke and Tulane. This is a game where I took nine and a half with Tulane, we closed at seven and a half, totals 51 and a half. But a few things to watch here. How big is the drop off going to be for the Blue Devils at quarterback? Darien Mensah transfers to Miami in the off season, also does it at a time where I don't really know if they had a plan in place.
In comes Walker Egott at quarterback. And Egott last year threw for 3,000 yards and he had 17 touchdowns to nine interceptions. This is a quarterback who at San Jose State put up really good numbers a year ago. But they also Duke lost their top four wide receivers. They're going to lean on the run game and Nate Shepard returning off of 1,100 yards, 11 touchdowns a season ago. Because they lean on the run game a little bit more, I think it'll be a lower scoring game. And I think Tulane will stay in it because on their side of things, they have a mobile quarterback with tremendous upside. Zion Chris Grimillion takes over at quarterback. Two years at Louisiana, two years at Houston, 6'3, 220, 4.8 yards per carry in a limited time over the last four seasons at those two stops. At Louisiana, he had one year, we had 11 passing touchdowns, six rushing touchdowns to five interceptions. He is an interesting ground game element for Tulane here as Will Hall takes over as the head coach of the Green Wave. And then for Tulane, a big injury for them in this matchup. How does Tulane miss their running back Jermari McClory? He's out with a foot injury. That means a lot of running back transfer, Jalen Lucas, who comes over from Florida State. I ultimately took the points in the dog because Manny Diaz in this role doesn't have a great track record.
He is 18 and 22 against the spread as a favorite, 11 and 14 as a home favorite, four and 10 as a favorite of three and a half to 10 And he's just three and six covering in the first two weeks of the season, six and 15 against the spread in non-conference action as the head coach of Duke. Those are the keys to the game in Duke and Tulane, which just got started moments ago. Updates for you in Happy Valley. We have a 24-0 lead, Penn State on top of Marshall, 15 seconds to go in the first half. Update in Atlanta, Baylor just made a big play. Was it a touchdown? DJ Lagway is limping, hopping on the field and there's a flag on the play. So maybe it wasn't a touchdown, but perhaps a roughing the passer as Lagway looks like, you know what he's walking fine now, he's limping off the field, hopping off the field. What's going to happen here? 94 seconds to go in the first half between Auburn and Baylor. Auburn with the lead 10 to nothing. What is the call on the field? I'm trying to watch the replay. Oh, it's pass interference. They went up, but did he come down with it? He may have come down with that. Ah, there's a player blocking the view. Does he hold on and retain possession?
