Top of the hour here in Franklin, Kentucky, right above the Circus Sports Book at the Midgaming Hall.
It is Live Bet Saturday. I am Brad Taylor. You can follow me on Twitter at BottomLineLex, along with Will Hill at, not the Will Hill, too easy that be, as we are getting ready for several, I think eight baseball games are about to start in the next 15 minutes or so, and two NFL games are about to start in the next few minutes. We do have one Major League game going on right now.
Bottom of the third in Philly. It is the Phillies three to nothing over the Cardinals right now. And yeah, the big favorites are the Phillies in this one. Mine is 1600 Total is 10 and a half on that one. And we just had one game end of the NFL. We saw the Giants finally finish off that game against the, excuse me, who were they playing? Yes, the Dolphins. Yes, the game against the Dolphins. I was 26 to 3 as I lost in here. Rams with less than a minute to go. 34 to nothing over the States. We have Bears-Bingles coming up the next couple of minutes. And Eagles-Patriots, those two games are about to start. Will, what are you looking for with these eight major league games and two NFL games? What is the one thing you're looking at the most from a handicapping perspective coming up in the next few hours in these games?
**Will Hill** (1:21)
Yeah, a lot of action here. A bunch of baseball, a couple of football games.
So, what to some people is, oh man, dead time of the year. You know, football hasn't really started yet. To have a couple of preseason games and eight major league baseball games and get some fun match up. Raise Orioles, a very big game, important game for both teams. We see Scubal for the Dodgers. That's fun. And Kate Anderson making his debut, his major league debut, a highly touted left-handed pitcher for the Mariners facing the Cubs here. A really stiff kind of test here to start his career. So, plenty of action should be fun. And I know we'll keep an eye on it. I do like Philly. The more we talk about this, the quarterback rotation with McKee and with Dallin, they played like crap last week. And I'm sure they heard about it all week. So that's one where you can still get a pretty reasonable price on the money line. So we'll be monitoring all of this. Plenty to do here. This show is going to fly by with all these games we have to watch and to sweat.

Minus 122, I see it circa now. That's kind of where the consensus is, is around minus 120 right now on the Eagles money line. In this preseason, so we're down to a three-week preseason. Is this something where maybe automatically you look at something, Will, a team that lost the first week of the preseason comes back week two, you want to take them or if the team won, maybe you want to fade them in week two? Because the preseason is different than everything else. We have overreaction theater, week one in the NFL, where the team who lost the first game, they'll never do anything. But is it something that you follow with the preseason, look for that team that lost week one, because they've really got a lot to prove week two, even if it is preseason.
**Will Hill** (2:56)
I know for years that's been a very good trend. 0-1 versus the 1-0 teams, you want the 0-1 team, where the 1-0 team say, all right, we're fat and happy, we got our win.
It's not like we're going to embarrass ourselves these preseason, we're good. The coach is happy. And we'll start to kind of have an eye towards the regular season where the 0-1 team, look, even though the games don't count, nobody wanted it 0-4 preseason. I know it's three now. Nobody wants a winless preseason where the, you know, they're starting to write about, oh, what's wrong with the team? They lost all the games, all of that. And I know it's a little different now because teams don't play their guys, but that has been a profitable angle over the years, playing the 0-1s versus the 1-0s. You know, and home field's another thing, Brad. In the preseason, I think teams get a half a point. I don't know that it's worth anything. I mean, you could say, oh, well, the inconvenience of the travel, the home crowd. I mean, is the crowd really that raucous where it means anything in the preseason? Are the refs influenced by it? Probably not. Travel is so easy and luxurious these days. I don't know that the travel matter. So that's one. If you're just backing the road teams, you might be getting some value because I think you probably give a point or so for home field advantage. And I don't know that home field is worth anything in the preseason.
