Again, we've got three games live as we speak in the National Football League. It is pre-season week number two. In fact, two of those just came to a close. The Atlanta Falcons lay it on the Colts in Indianapolis. 34 to six. This is one of the beautiful things about pre-season football. I am a college football guy through and through, but you get some of these guys with some unbelievable background stories, given the opportunity to ball out even if it's just for one night in a pre-season game, or in this case, one afternoon in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jack Strand for the Atlanta Falcons at a D2 Minnesota State University Moorhead who set record after record at the Division II level, threw for more than 13,000 passing yards in his career. Last year set a record at his college, Minnesota State University Moorhead, 42 touchdown passes in a single season. He puts up a ton today for the Falcons as they blow out the Colts. We did not see starting quarterbacks in this game. Of course, we are not going to really see Danny Dimes. Anthony Richardson was out there. It's been going terribly for Anthony Richardson so far in the pre-season. Three of nine, 24 yards, three rushing attempts for 15 yards. At least no turnovers. I am pretty sure making sure he didn't fumble. Riley Leonard fumbled and did recover it as well. Riley Leonard got the start for Indianapolis. It's not about the Colts. It's not even about the game overall. It's a Jack Strand story. 12 of 17, 212 yards, in a touchdown through the air, nine carries, 22 yards for the young Jack Strand, and a rushing score as well. Of course, there is going to be some quarterback controversy this year in Atlanta. Tuatunga Bailoa, Michael Pennex Jr., maybe Kevin Stefanski in his first year in the ATL is looking around like, I kind of like this guy, Jack Strand. Out of Minnesota State University, Moorhead, remember the name, Jack Strand, 212 yards, a touchdown toss, and a rushing score as well. The Falcons absolutely paced the Colts in Indy 34-6. And speaking of preseason performers, Joe Finiano continues to deliver for the Flock, the rookie quarterback out of Yukon that put up record breaking numbers for the Huskies last year, 123 yards, and a passing touchdown following a week in which he threw for more than 220 yards in Baltimore's preseason debut. We talked about that very idea, that new offensive coordinator in the Charm City, Declan Doyle, getting the chance to call plays under first year head coach, Jesse Mentor, what it could mean for Lamar Jackson. Those are things to pay attention to. The other game we have live right now, it's currently underway in Cleveland and in that second half. Over five minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Browns trail by 10, 17 to 7 Shador Sanders got the start at the quarterback spot. 74 yards, a touchdown in the first half, but did throw an interception late before the break. Buffalo leads 17 to 7 up by 10 We saw a live number of 7.5 in favor of the Bills. I mentioned how I don't mind looking at Cleveland to cover as north of a touchdown live underdog because we've got the quarterback battle raging on between Deshaun and Shador. Second and nine here for the Browns at their own 40-yard line as they try to near midfield. I would say currently Deshaun Watson is that betting favorite to win this starting quarterback job as he just took off for about a 12-yard run and a first down, but he's still proving it out there. And you know that Todd Monkett in his first year as the head coach in the land is calling plays like this would be a normal regular season Sunday to try to get the best out of both of his potential quarterback options. So I still think Cleveland can cover as a live seven and a half point dog. We've got two games that are just about to kick. First in Miami, it's the Dolphins and the Giants. We saw a lot of reserves, a lot of backups. So for today, I think that is going to be the story, but at least based on reports around week two, Jackson Dark going to start for the G-Men and for the Miami Dolphins, it's going to be Malik Willis. And Quinn Ewer is not going to play in this game. A groin injury in week number one of the preseason. Could we get some spin and some burn out of Willis here as he tries to impress his new head coach in his first year in Miami in Jeff Halfley. We are on the over of the first half total of 19 and a half between the Giants and the Finns, expecting scoring with some of the more regular names and starters that we know on both sides out there early. We are basically not going to see a single starter for either the Saints or the Rams in Los Angeles this afternoon. But the one positional battle that really matters for Los Angeles is that backup quarterback spot.
