Lesson Learned: Avoid the Judgment, Embrace the Moment

My Takes

June 19, 2026

A quick follow-up about the importance of disconnecting and a lesson learned. I recently caught myself feeling a bit frustrated seeing everyone on their devices, and found myself being a bit negative. We all know the importance of disconnecting, but it’s also harder than it looks.

I had to stop and do one more post for this lilac. Jonathan Saar, My Takes. Follow up to the disconnect.
Kind of immediately counseled myself because it was like kind of a negative post. I don't like doing negative posts. I didn't want to talk smack about anybody that was on their device. Everyone does what they want. That's what they want to do. In general, I'm out here on this trail 99.999%, or out here for a reason.
They know the benefits of being out here. Mental health, clearing your mind, talking about family, being with your friends, enjoying nature. Sorry about the background, highway noise. I probably should have recorded this back where it wasn't. But anyway, My Takes, enjoy. Enjoy what people are enjoying. Get out there. Do what you need to do. Disconnect if you can. Live the moment. Jonathan Saar, My Takes.
