Leon Rose planning a trade? Leon Rose is always planning something, whether we see it or not. But after these latest updates that we have on Jordan Clarkson, it seems highly likely that a trade is coming.
Shoutout to hoopsrumors.com for giving us this following information. According to them, Hawks center Jock Landell, Knicks guard Jordan Clarkson, and Warriors big man Charles Bassey waived the implicit no-trade clauses in their respective contracts. A player who resigned with his previous team on a one-year contract or a two-year deal with a second-year player option or team option is typically awarded the right to veto a trade for the upcoming year. However, his team can ask him to waive that right as part of the agreement. And that was the case for Landell, Clarkson, and Bassey, who can all be traded freely at the 2027 NBA deadline in February.
Because Jordan Clarkson did this, there's a huge possibility he could be traded next season. But in my opinion, that would be a mistake. Jordan Clarkson is not only a walking bucket, not only has he improved his defense, so he's now a great two-way player. He's also a locker room leader for a lot of the young guys on the team. And you need a player like that on your roster. He's a vet for this Knicks team. He helps New York win. Even more than that, when he's on the floor, defenses, they collapse on him. Because they believe, because they already know. If you leave Clarkson open, he is going to make you pay. And let's not forget, Clarkson on a vet minimum contract, it's hard to do better than that for this Knicks team. He was also part of the team that went all the way to the NBA Finals and won it all.
Why would you trade that player away when it really doesn't make sense to do so? Not to mention, this man is always working. He's always in the lab, even now.
Roll the video.
There he is once again. Jordan Clarkson hard at work. It's the off season. Other people are resting, they're on vacations. But what's JC doing? Working on his jump shot, his three-point shots. This is what you call a man that never stops working. I mean, look at him. Walking bucket. Come on, man. Look at this man. Never stops. Look at him. Never stops.
Why you would want to trade a person like this, a player like this? I have no idea in my mind. Maybe the Knicks will make a trade at the trade deadline. But it should definitely not include Jordan Clarkson. Look at this man. All he does is work, work on his game, and try to get better. Even though he's a vet in the league, he's still trying to do this. I don't have any idea why anyone would want to trade this man. He is too perfect for this Knicks team right now. He does everything that the Knicks need him to do. Even more than that by being a locker room leader. Leon Rose, I know you're always planning something. I know you're planning to make a trade. But if you do make that trade, please, do not move Jordan Clarkson. He is perfect for this team and what the Knicks need right now on the roster. Leon Rose will make a move next season. That move could involve Jordan Clarkson. But like I said before, that's a mistake. However, there is another player in mind that we need to talk about. If the Knicks are going to make a trade, maybe it's not Jordan Clarkson we should be looking at. Instead, maybe that player will be Miles McBride. It's no secret that McBride is in a contract year. And if the Knicks can't work out terms with him to re-sign him on another contract, we know what they're going to do.
