Thanks for telling friends. We love that about you.

Peter King, the venerable Peter King, the celebrated Peter King has a book, The Game. It is out now and for this week. Only 30 percent off, so I'm told. Wherever you find finer books, like they used to say that when we were young, you know, sport jackets, wherever you find finer sportswear, finer books, we don't do that. Like I would tell people, where to get your podcasts, wherever you find finer podcasts.

Peter King (3:02)

No, because they told me at the publisher, hey, you're in the Amazon Top 100 that just came out. Wow, that's great, cool. And I looked on it and the very hungry caterpillar is selling more than I am, as is Good Night Moon. So I am chasing them right now, Adam.

Adam Carolla (3:20)

Children's books are the biggest cop out in the world. They're such a cop out.

If you were tasked to write a children's book, I could tell you at noon and you could be done by five o'clock that same day. And then when the people go, well, I don't illustrate, now you're in another substrata of loser to me. Because anyone can write a children's book, and then we turn you into a hero for writing a children's book, which I hate, but I want to be accurate.

Peter King (3:56)

Yeah.

Adam Carolla (3:57)

When they say, anyone who writes or creates anything for children, any form of art, cartoons, whatever, if you do things for children, when you have a special needs adult, and it could be a family member and the guy is 63 years old, and you go, what's wrong with Larry? And they go, he has the mentality of a six-year-old.

Well, you're writing books for retarded people. If you really do the math, if you do the math, that's what you're doing, Peter.

Peter King (4:27)

Lord.

Adam Carolla (4:28)

This is not it. This is a 500 and some odd pages, this book.

Peter King (4:34)

Yeah, 550 something. Look, it's, and I cut it down 30,000 words. It's 192,000 words. It's not for the faint of heart. I did the audio book too.

Adam Carolla (4:47)

Oh my God.

Peter King (4:47)

Took me nine days.

Adam Carolla (4:49)

Oh my God.

Peter King (4:50)

Nine days of my life that I'll never get back. But the reason I did it, I have, for some reason, I have the kind of voice that people in airports hear me ordering at Starbucks and they turn around and say, you're Peter King.
