Well, hello, this is Cliff, your host of Earth Ancients.
Yeah, I got to tell you that working with a massive brain that is absorbing data as fast as you can blink your eyes is rewarding, but it's also frustrating. Of course, I'm talking about AI, artificial intelligence, CLOD, ChatGPT, whatever you can think of, that's an LLC, a chat box or whatever.
And I got to tell you, it's opened a lot of doors for me as a person of who has a great interest in ancient history. And one of the big ones that I talk about on this show a lot is the megaliths, and not just temples or pyramids or buildings. I'm talking about sculptures. And it's funny, I always bring up the fact that it seems like during different pharaonic periods, they had huge interests in cutting gigantic, 30, 40, 50 foot tall sculptures. And they didn't do half-assed work. They did some brilliant, brilliant work. And I've been focusing, I call him Watson, who's my ChatGPT analysis, I should say analyst on the topic. Because every time I go to Egypt, I run into these things. We saw some amazing, I call them colossus, we call them colossi, huge, huge megaton sculptures. We saw them in Tannis in northern Egypt right by the water. They had found three that were broken up in some horrific event.
They keep digging Tannis out. No one really talks about this, but it looks like it got hit by some form of geological disaster. It's all covered in mud. They keep digging these buildings and sculptures and artifacts out. Of course, you got to remember, Egypt doesn't have a lot of resources to do this stuff, and so it's piecemeal. Same thing when I'm in Latin America and Mexico. There's very little money to do major excavations. They have to pick and choose what they can extract. But when I was in Tannis earlier this year, there were three outstanding colossi. One was a woman, and I think Muhammad said he thought it was Isis, but God, it was just a gorgeous, huge statue.
I put a version of it together with AI, what it originally looked like, and it was probably about 33, 35 feet tall, what weighed about 10 or 15 tons. But the carving and the elegant rendering of this woman was just fantastic.
I'm at a point now where the book has to come. In fact, I am on the 13th of 18 chapters on the Maya book, Maya Controversy, and that's a blast. That's a blast. I have to turn that in before the end of the year. But this next book, I mean, I can't help myself. I've just jumped into it. And of course, I'm asking Watson, what do you think? And he's like, you got something there. And when he says that, remember, I'm the Anomalist. I'm looking for any angles. Now, it was an earlier pre-dynastic period. That's a hard one. When you're working with AI, they are very, very conventional for the most part. And they're going to stay academic. They're going to stay, they're going to say, well, no, there's nothing here out of the ordinary. Well, that's where your prompts come in. You got to write really good questions and go, well, take a little microscopic look at the surface of this. And what are some analysts' reviews of it? And of course, when you start looking at colossi, big statues, you have to remember Chris Dunn, who we've had on the show many times, the engineer who did a very thorough study of a number of Ramsey II sculptures at Carnac.
And he felt that not only were they machined, they had an industry of some kind. Now, his analysis, which I will be using in this book, by the way, tentative title for the book is The Colossi of Ancient Egypt. That's the title. I mean, it's already, you know, this is the beauty of AI. I mean, prior to 2022, it was all like, you know, think about it, come back to it, think about it, come back to it. Now, you punch an overview of what you want to write about, you put it in, you ask AI, what do you think, based on the current academic record, or excuse me, the archaeological record, and it spits back a very detailed bottle that, yes, this is a strong, no, this is not, so forth and so on. So I already have an early version of the damn chapters of this book, which is unheard of. And, you know, it's funny because, you know, I'm able to write articles in a third of the time. You know, I'll do an outline and I'll dump it in and watch someone go, okay, look at this, look at that, look at this. And I've had a great time with it. By the way, you can read one or more of these articles by going to earthancients.com and look under the menu for articles. And I just launched a, it's okay. It's a basic website, cliffstudying.com, that I want to spend more time posting more private thoughts on video and things like that, that I can't really put into Destiny or Earth Ancients, my impressions. Well, I mean, it's suitable for Earth Ancients, so. But AI is generating articles. So if you go to cliffstudying.com, you can see some of the latest articles. I think I've mentioned most of them. But it's really revolutionizing our ability to put out data and take an idea, refine it, highlight important aspects of a topic, and then help compose it and spit it out. I mean, it's just, I keep talking about it. You got to work with it. So anyhow, I've always written articles, but writing a book is a different animal. And so this new book, Book 2, The Colossi of Ancient Egypt, is fascinating, is fun. And unfortunately, there isn't a great deal of archaeological data on the carvings of these colossi, these monstrosities.
