Welcome to episode 902, learn to see 10 moves ahead while executing the one right in front of you. So vision, let's talk about it. On Instagram, I had put on my stories the other day, just 10 rift points. That was like, you know, I was like, it's been interesting when you follow Collin, when you follow your vision. And what it got me, I'll read each of these and we'll break them all down. But what was interesting to me is I was thinking about how I get how any of you may feel like misunderstood along the way. Believe me, I totally get it. When you carve your own path or you make decisions other than what, you know, everybody else says you should do, often you're going to be looked at, you know, like, why? Why are you doing that? And why are you doing the hard route? And why are you taking that path? And, you know, you'd be very deeply misunderstood. And as an entrepreneur, my whole life and always kind of going in my own independent direction and being able to see thousands of steps ahead at times, like, people may not get it. They may not, and they may not even get today's step. They're like, okay, like, you know, what's this thing? And I was watching, I saw a couple of different creators online that kind of sparked this when I decided to do this riff. What had happened was, one was a woman talking about, actually, there were several videos, now that I think about it. One woman was talking about how she decided to kind of, I think she still got a little bit of her nine to five job, but she's in a different stage of her life. She's now doing like travel vlogging and documenting, doing all these different places. And she did this video about how she had put up, I guess, a post that came from one of her friends that was basically saying something about, I'm just wanting to be honest with you. I don't really get what you're doing, and I don't get why you're doing it. And you only have like maybe like a thousand followers. And it takes a lot to be like a travel influencer. And I just, I mean, I get it. I get why you'd want to do it. She showed basically the message from this individual, I guess that was a friend, and was just saying like, you know, why do something like this? Like you would need significantly much more people. And even at 10,000 followers, you know, is that even a viable business? You know, first of all, there's so much in there. There's so much in there when I was reading that. And now she's up to, I think, about almost 6,000 followers. And it's cool. And she was just kind of showing like, hey, I want to do this. This is what I want to do. And not everybody will understand. There's so much in there because, listen, you have to understand nowadays building something and using social media or sub stack or a podcast or whatever, maybe like online. It's just a different version of like when people were, I know some of you think I'm crazy with this, but when somebody was setting up a factory 80, 90, 100 years ago or a storefront. And so tasks have changed. And just because maybe somebody uses Facebook, Instagram for their personal reasons, doesn't mean that somebody who's trying to use it for a business isn't capable of making that happen. And the reason I bring that up is because everybody starts at zero. No matter who you are, Steve Jobs started at zero before he ever had anything with Apple. Everybody starts at zero. And so I thought it was cool that this woman was like, I'm going to just keep going. Good for her. I'm going to tell you all right now, that person wins. Doesn't matter how long it takes, that person wins because she's willing to do the work.
She has a vision for herself. It was placed in her. Now some of you, okay, we'll travel or whatever. Yeah, you don't have to relate to it. But there's a lot of other people who are like, oh, thank you for all the travel tips. What else you got? You know, and it's in her vision. It's something that she's going after. Nobody else has to understand it. You know, and then I was thinking, I saw some other people where one guy was talking about how it's crazy to be where he's at now because when he first started his account and like in all the social media and everything, whatever, how, you know, the business, you know, people were like, oh, what makes you think your product is going to do well? And, you know, and it was just, but also like, oh, you're going up against giants, you know, big people in that industry.
