You know, Dan, tis the season to be celebrating these United States of America. And one of the things that I like to celebrate is that classic American entrepreneurial spirit. We can get a little cynical about America sometimes, but there is something amazing about that. And it's one of the reasons that I like supporting Brooklyn bedding. It's a classic American story. The founder, John, didn't come from some big corporate background. He didn't have a degree, he just studied mattresses, bootstrapped the business, and built his own factory from the ground up in Arizona.

Now, that's the kind of determination and grit that actually is fun to talk about, but it's also resulted in some great mattresses.

Dan McClellan (0:42)

Yeah, my mattress that I got from Brooklyn bedding is the Plank Firm Luxe. It's a Cal King, as I enjoy pointing out to you repeatedly. But I could tell the difference the first night I've slept on this mattress. Brooklyn bedding knows sleep isn't one size fits all. They offer mattresses for every body, every sleep style, even in hard to find sizes.

If you're like me, you sleep hot. They have their Glaciotex covers, copper-infused foams, temperature-regulating materials that help keep you cool and comfortable all night long. They design and assemble every mattress in their Arizona factory. No middlemen, no gimmicks, just top-tier quality, honest pricing, and real American craftsmanship for a much better night's sleep.

Dan Beecher (2:18)

I can play this game with their stuff too.

Dan McClellan (2:21)

Yeah.

Dan Beecher (2:21)

You know, Beresheet is a house controlled by leaders who claim divine authority, consume and mark their own violence as a covenant.

Dan McClellan (2:32)

Yeah. Or you could just say, does the Beresheet in the woods? Affirmative. Okay.

Hey, everybody, I'm Dan McClellan.

Dan Beecher (2:48)

And I'm Dan Beecher.

Dan McClellan (2:49)

And this is Data Over Dogma, where we increase public access to the academic study of the Bible and religion, and we combat the spread of misinformation about the same. How are things today, Dan?

Dan Beecher (3:01)

The world's on fire. Literal fire.

Dan McClellan (3:04)

How about yours? That's the way I like it.

Anyway, don't sue us.

Dan Beecher (3:10)

I don't know if you've ever, if you've gone out for a walk. I don't know what it's like, you know, you and I live 20 miles apart or something like that. And here in my neck of the woods, it's smoky.

Dan McClellan (3:23)

You got like a thousand square something fire burning just up the hill from you.

Dan Beecher (3:31)

Yep. So that's not fun.

You go outside and it smells like camping. So that's kind of nice.

Dan McClellan (3:39)

But not the good kind.

Dan Beecher (3:40)

Not the good kind, yeah.

Dan McClellan (3:41)

Yeah.

It's not great. The air quality is trash. The vibes are in shambles basically. Like this morning, my daughter came down and we have two dogs, let them out of the kennel. They're pretty big dogs and they can get, what's the word, smelly.

Particularly if they've been given treats or something like that. I could smell their breath from my office and I was like, the dog's stink and I went and opened the back door and I was like, smells like a forest fire and my wife was like, why does it smell like that and came down and was like, hey, you got to shut that. So yeah, it's not great. I would like to go for a run tomorrow, but I don't know if that's going to be in the best interests of my survival.

Dan Beecher (4:33)

Yeah, you might want to find an indoor track if you're going to do that.

Dan McClellan (4:37)

I can go to the gym. I got a gym nearby that I can go to, but I prefer to run outdoors.

Dan Beecher (4:43)

Yeah, it's nice, but not now.

Dan McClellan (4:45)

Anyway, I like to see the mountains when I do. Right now, you cannot see the mountains because of this.
