You had to rely purely on your training. Business is the exact same way. When a crisis hits, your team is going to mirror your exact emotional state. If you walk into the boardroom screaming, they will panic. Whether you are dealing with a massive lawsuit or a server crash, you have to be the calmest person in the building. If you lose your cool, you kill the company's ability to recover. Second, you have to isolate the facts from the emotions immediately. People do not solve a crisis by complaining about how unfair it is. They solve it by diagnosing the math. So instead of focusing on who to blame, pull out a whiteboard, list the raw data of what is actually broken, and build a three step mechanical fix. Make cold calculated logic your only response to the fire. Lastly, surviving the fire creates an unshakable bond within your organization. When your team watches you navigate a disaster with extreme composure and decisive action, their loyalty to your leadership becomes absolute. Supreme emotional control, rapid problem solving, and undeniable resilience create a legendary founder. When you walk through the fire, you forge an empire of steel. Bottom line, the crisis is just the test you have to pass to get to the next level. Regulate your emotions, execute the fix, and lead the way. Because when you do, you will emerge stronger than ever.
