Denny Carter (1:11)

Hey, it's been a long time.

JJ Zachariason (1:12)

I always talk about this with guests when they come on Late-Round Perspectives. It's great to talk to you because I've never done a show with you before.

Denny Carter (1:21)

It has been, let's see here, 24 hours since we last did a show.

JJ Zachariason (1:27)

24 hours since we did a show together, yeah.

Denny Carter (1:29)

Yeah, it's been a long time, long time. It's good to see your face.

JJ Zachariason (1:32)

You too, you too.

Denny Carter (1:34)

As usual, with glasses on. Please don't take the glasses off. I can't deal with it.

JJ Zachariason (1:39)

It is weird, right? I told my wife Amanda about that last night. For those of you who don't know, Denny and I do Living the Stream together. We've done over 300 episodes of Living the Stream.

If you count your other perspectives appearance, you count other random shows that we've done. We've probably done 315 shows together through the years.

Denny Carter (2:03)

That sounds about right.

JJ Zachariason (2:05)

Something along those lines.

Denny Carter (2:06)

Since 2012

JJ Zachariason (2:07)

But we did Living the Stream, which is on the Late-Round Fantasy Football YouTube. You guys can check that out. We did Living the Stream yesterday where that show, for those of you who are not aware, is 15-20% fantasy football and the rest is just us talking about random things going on in life as dads, basically.

Denny Carter (2:25)

I would put it more at 33% football.

JJ Zachariason (2:28)

Okay, that's fair. I'm not giving us enough credit.

Denny Carter (2:32)

Maybe we've gotten a little more football-y over the last couple of years.

JJ Zachariason (2:36)

You might be right. This year, the first few weeks of the streaming season were rough. We've been cooking the last four or five weeks.

Denny Carter (2:45)

We have been, we have been. I do think folks in the current fantasy landscape might forget how unique Living the Stream was back in the day.

JJ Zachariason (2:58)

Yeah.

Denny Carter (2:58)

As a show where we weren't talking about good players. We were talking about scraping the bottom of the waiver wire every week. Folks really seemed like that. Of course, you get that from a thousand YouTube shows now, but we were maybe the first.

JJ Zachariason (3:16)

I think that we were definitely the first people to have a show dedicated to streaming. That's not just a humble brag thing. That's just facts. We started that show in 2012, I think it was. Is that when Xavier, is that when your son was born? Yeah. Okay. We started in 2012 What I was going to say is that I took off my glasses on the show or before the show with Denny, and I looked like a completely different person. Just completely different. I was talking to my wife about that, how you can tell when someone wears glasses when they take it off for whatever reason. Similarly, how you can tell when a man had a ponytail and he cut his ponytail off. You can always tell that he had that ponytail.

Denny Carter (3:53)

He could go again with a ponytail.

JJ Zachariason (3:55)

I think it's a great analogy personally. But yeah, I mean, it's pretty wild that we've been doing it for as long as we have, and the audience is awesome, the listeners are great. We've had so many inside jokes and stuff that have been created through the years. I don't know, it's a really cool niche that we've carved out within the space. But you're right, streaming is just and everybody knows what that means now. When we first did it, people didn't even know what the term meant.
