Hello, welcome to day seven of Wimbledon, last ball drops, first day of the fourth round.
And it was not as chaotic as yesterday, that's for sure, but we had some more big upsets, some more big results. So yeah, we'll get right into it with the women's side, where we had the, certainly the biggest result of the day. We had Naomi Osaka knocking off top seed, Arena Sabalenka in straight sets. It was Sabalenka's first straight set loss at a Grand Slam since the 2020, I believe Australian Open, but definitely since 2020

US Open, that's right. I kept seeing that stat today, but I couldn't remember.
But yeah, that was a pretty crazy result. Osaka won 6-2 in the first set, and then the second set went to a tie break, which she won 7-2. So some poetic score lines there. And yeah, it's Osaka's first Wimbledon quarterfinal and Sabalenka out before the quarterfinals. So Valdez, what do you think of this result?

I mean, before we even go into the results, it's just remarkable that the three tournament favorites all lost in similar fashion. Lob-sided set and then a tie break.
And Irina Sabalenka all lost in similar fashion.

Sabalenka kind of did the reverse.

Yeah, she did the reverse.
I would say going into the tie break, Irina Sabalenka didn't have any confidence. If you watch her body language going to that tie break, she didn't have that steel that you would see in her face when she goes into those tight moments. Because Naomi did not let up. I would say in the first set, Sabalenka was a little bit off it. She was really stunned by Naomi's consistency, her power, her serving. And she just didn't let Irina take any control of the rally. She was steady and consistent from the baseline. And Sabalenka was the one rattled, lots of forehand errors, the ball was flying on Sabalenka in that first set. She just couldn't handle the game of Naomi. In the second set, Naomi had a few break points in a couple of Irina's service games. Irina got out of those games, started serving better, at least on her service games. But Naomi did not let up in her service games. She kept on going for her serve.
