Akiva Schaffer (0:00)

Oh, this guy's representing.

Seth Meyers (0:01)

I'm representing.

Akiva Schaffer (0:02)

For the late night hosts. Seth has come in hot with the Jimmy Kimmel live hat.

Seth Meyers (0:07)

Well, I was on Jimmy Kimmel this week.

Akiva Schaffer (0:09)

I know, I saw a photo. I didn't get to watch it. You guys were real cute. I got a little swag bag.

Andy Samberg (0:12)

In your suits. Well, it's interesting, though, Seth, because for me, when I get those swag bags, I give them immediately to my family.

Seth Meyers (0:18)

I'm going to say something.

Andy Samberg (0:19)

Yeah.

Seth Meyers (0:19)

It's a really good hat. And I think that we have the best T-shirt as far as the swag bag biz goes in late night, and I think Kimmel has the best hat.

Andy Samberg (0:29)

We get it. You guys all get along. It's not like the 80s.

SPEAKER_5 (0:33)

We all know about Strike Force 5, dude. You guys are well adjusted.

Seth Meyers (0:36)

Do you remember when Leno went on Letterman and then his swag bag had a poisonous cobra in it?

Andy Samberg (0:43)

Bill Carter.

Seth Meyers (0:44)

Oh, that Bill Carter story in his book.

Andy Samberg (0:46)

Speaking of Letterman-ish, right out of the gate, I got a, you're eligible for an advanced viewing of the Norm Macdonald documentary on Netflix. Oh, very exciting. I popped it on. It's Judd and it's fantastic, obviously.

Jorma Taccone (1:00)

He did one for Maria Bamford, too, that I was super excited to check out.

Andy Samberg (1:03)

Yeah, I saw that one, too. They're both so good. It's so wonderful that Judd is like, no, fuck that, comedy, like every time over and over and over.

Jorma Taccone (1:11)

But it's weird that deep down he hates comedy.

SPEAKER_8 (1:14)

Yeah.

Jorma Taccone (1:14)

Like it's just odd that like I would never call him like a comedy person.

SPEAKER_8 (1:17)

Right.

Andy Samberg (1:18)

Oh, interesting. Say more about that.

Seth Meyers (1:19)

It's like it's exposure therapy. He's afraid of comedians.

And so his therapist said, you should make 100 documentaries. The thing about Jonathan is like he basically, his brain could already like produce documentaries about 100 comedians.

Andy Samberg (1:36)

Correct.

Seth Meyers (1:36)

His entire youth is almost like he was building up to this moment, that he had to also go through this long winding trail of being like this incredibly accomplished writer and director of comedy. But like he's meant to celebrate other comedians and he doesn't.

Andy Samberg (1:50)

He already knows all the clips to pull. Yeah.

Seth Meyers (1:54)

He's like Claude for comedy documentaries.

Andy Samberg (1:57)

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_3 (1:57)

That's funny. You know what? Shout out Claude.

Akiva Schaffer (1:59)

Thank you for saying it like that.

Seth Meyers (2:00)

Shout out Claude.

SPEAKER_10 (2:04)

Seth Rocks.

SPEAKER_3 (2:05)

Oh, thank God.

Seth Meyers (2:06)

I didn't get my own drop. I didn't get my own drop last week Andy, and so I was pretty upset.

Andy Samberg (2:10)

So now you do.

Seth Meyers (2:11)

Yeah. By the way, I mean Claude, C-L-O-D.

That is a new AI that we, the four of us are working on and it's just comedy stuff.

Akiva Schaffer (2:21)

So it's just like a Claude of like dirt.

Jorma Taccone (2:23)

It's just sarcastic answers.

Andy Samberg (2:25)

I thought you meant Claude the musician that Paul Red was in the video of. Oh, yeah.

Seth Meyers (2:30)

Right. There you go. Gentlemen, so nice to see you.

Akiva Schaffer (2:33)

Where are you, Seth? New background?

Seth Meyers (2:35)

New background. I am in the office of the mountain biking outfitter that I just dropped my kids off and they're riding on trails while I'm doing a podcast.

Andy Samberg (2:44)

Is that why you're dressed like a mountain biker as well?

Seth Meyers (2:46)

Yeah. Also, I was told by my son, he was like, how long do you have to do the podcast? I'm like, it usually takes an hour. He's like, all right, use the rest of the time studying the rules of magic, the gathering.

He just bought a pack of magic, the gathering cards, and now he's obsessed. By the way, no, just immediately obsessed.

Akiva Schaffer (3:04)

He assigned that to you.

Jorma Taccone (3:06)

Wait, are you going to learn it? Because I had to learn Pokemon and I did not want to, so.

Seth Meyers (3:10)

I mean, yeah, because I love my son, I'm going to do it real quick. Wayne Brady has an improv podcast, and Ben Schwartz was the guest, and Wayne Brady's phone rang, and his ringtone was like a boss.
