And now, let's get started.
The Knicks are still discussing a trade. We have been waiting weeks for the Knicks to make a move, and they've been radio silent. Now we know why.
The Knicks are still discussing a trade for another center, and the trade targets, they still haven't changed.
Shout out to Sleeper Knicks and NBA insider Jake Fisher for giving us this following information. According to them, the Knicks have contacted several teams around the NBA regarding centers. New Orleans Pelican Center Yves Missi and Charlotte Hornet Center Musa Diabate remain names to keep an eye on. If any one of these trades are going to happen, it's likely that Miles McBride will be involved in that deal.
Shout out to Ian Bagley for giving us this following information. According to him, McBride on an expiring contract is one of the most valuable trade chips in the league. He would garner significant interest if New York made him available via trade, either in season or in this off season. We're certainly not there yet, but logic tells you that's where things could be headed.
At this point, given how many weeks we are away from training camp, I'll take either one of these players, Yves Missi or Musa Diabate. And as we just heard, Miles McBride, he's one of the most valuable trade pieces the Knicks have on the roster right now. If they make him available, likely with another young player, maybe Pacome Dottier, maybe Tyler Kolek, and a few second round picks, either one of these centers could likely be joining the Knicks. But here's the thing, and I thought about this for a second, between both, if I had to choose, my preference is Musa Diabate. He's young, he's up and coming, he provides the Knicks exactly what they need, and he can still get better. He can still develop. So that's my preference. But then I went and I checked the Hornets' roster regarding guards, because if Miles McBride is going to be the centerpiece of any trade, you have to look at the opposing team and who they already have at guard. Remember, a few weeks ago, they traded for Dennis Schroeder. They also have Kobe White, Khan Knipple, and they also drafted a rookie in the 2026 draft, Christian Anderson Jr. And that's another guard that likely needs to make his way up that ladder to play with the Hornets' main team. Right now, we have no idea what he's going to do for this upcoming season. But for the future seasons, he could play a prominent role off the bench. Those are a number of guards I just named. And honestly, if I went through their entire roster, they have even more guards. So the question becomes, do they really need a player like Tyler Kolek, like Miles McBride on that team? Don't they have enough guards already?
They probably do. And would the trade package of McBride, Kolek, and second round picks be enough to sway the Hornets to make a trade with the New York Knicks? Probably not. Not for a player like Musa Diabate, who they believe in, they want on that team. He's part of their young core who they want to grow with. So it's becoming increasingly difficult to make that trade happen. And for Yves Missi, I mean, New York has been rejected so many times by the Pelicans trying to make a trade for Missi. Now, Ian Begley did mention a key point when discussing Miles McBride. He could either be traded now or in season, near the trade deadline. As of right now, I'm not sure if the Hornets or the Pelicans really want to do business with the Knicks. I'm sure New York wants to do that. That's why they're still talking to multiple teams. Two of those teams are the same teams they've been talking trades with for the last several weeks. The Hornets and the Pelicans. But nothing is budging on that end. And I'm sure Leon Rose...
