The Knicks receive good news, but like we always do, let's start with the good news first. We mentioned a few days ago that Mohamed Diawara is fully healthy once again. To prove that, we have this video of Diawara putting work in at the gym. And let me tell you guys, he looks really, really good right now. Roll the video.
Diawara looks great. He's gonna have a very good year for the Knicks. Someone else who hopes he's gonna have a very good year with New York is newest Knicks center, Andre Drummond. He's back in the lab once again playing pick up basketball. And he looks like he's putting in the work to have a major impact off the bench for New York. Unfortunately, now it's time to move on to the bad news and discuss that. And today, we have a lot of bad news to discuss. Let's first start with the Knicks, losing one of its key members in the front office, Gersson Rosas.
Shout out to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype for giving us this following information. After four seasons and winning one NBA championship, New York Knicks Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, Gersson Rosas, has departed from the organization. Rosas hinted at his departure in an Instagram post. He posted the following message on his Instagram, and we have that information for you. According to Rosas, celebrating an NBA championship and the successful completion of our New York chapter with the Familia, fulfilling the vision of bringing a championship back to New York after 53 years is a legacy I'll always be proud to have helped build. Being part of assembling a team that represented the city, connected with its fans, and brought people together was one of the most meaningful and cherished parts of this journey. All love to my Knicks family, the peaks and the valleys, the sacrifices, and our relentless commitment to making this plan a reality made the achievement even sweeter. Grateful for every moment of this legendary milestone. Mission accomplished. On to the next chapter. Knicks in 5, Kings of New York.

It's never good to lose someone in the front office, especially when that person is Gersson Rosas. But at least we know the real reason why he's leaving New York. And we're getting this information courtesy of Steph Bondy, an NBA insider with the New York Post.
According to Bondy, Rosas' contract was up. Per League sources, Rosas, who played an important role in building the Knicks Championship roster, felt like he needed to grow as an executive, which also meant exploring other opportunities. He left on good terms with Leon Rose and his staff.
So he didn't leave on bad terms. He's looking for other opportunities to help him grow as an executive. And I don't see a problem with that. The next piece of bad news we have to discuss has to deal with Carl Anthony Townes and that extension. Whether he gets it or not, New York may not know this yet, but eventually, they're gonna have to make a sacrifice that they do not want to make. This is what I'm talking about. According to Daily Knicks, in a vacuum, the Carl Anthony Townes extension isn't a problem. However, we don't live in a vacuum, and it's unfortunately not the actual root of the issue brewing in New York. Here's the parts you wanna listen to. The looming Townes contract is merely a distraction from the brutal reality that at least one of Brunson, Ananobe, or Hart will likely have to be traded in the next two years. Why? Because of their salary cap and wanting to stay above the second apron. With all of these things on the table, the reality is, at some point in the next two years, New York will have to make a trade that they absolutely do not want to make.
I wish we could say we're done with the bad news, but unfortunately, we have even more bad news to discuss today. The next piece of bad news has to deal with the Knicks two-way contracts. New York is the only team left in the NBA that has not signed any two-way players. Take a look at this. Shout out to New York Basketball on the AppX for giving us this following information. According to Hoop Rumors, over 72-way contract slots are filled around the NBA. However, the Knicks are the only team in the NBA that hasn't yet signed any two-way players. All three slots remain open. And one of the players they could have signed to a two-way deal, he's already off the table. He just signed with the Raptors earlier this afternoon. Shout out to Chris Haynes for giving us this following information. According to him, free agent center Trey Jemison III and the Toronto Raptors have reached an agreement on a two-way contract. The NBA champ finds a new home in Toronto. But that's not the only update we have. While Sohan was not eligible for a two-way contract, there were reports that the Knicks could possibly bring him back. But now that's off the table too. As NBA champion Jeremy Sohan has agreed to a one-year deal to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers. So he's gone too. The Knicks lose Trey Jemison III. They lose Jeremy Sohan. Going back a few more weeks, they lose Mitchell Robinson, and they lose Ariel Huckporty. So essentially, every single player that was a center for the Knicks, or at least could play center for New York, from last season, they're gone now. Now all the Knicks have at the center position is Carl Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond. They need to address this situation as soon as possible. They need to start signing players for those two-way contract spots and for that 14th roster spot. They must do this as soon as possible. The only question is, when will they handle this situation?
