The Knicks continue to receive good news. And this time, it's surrounding the rookies they just drafted. We're gonna break down all of these latest reports today.

The Knicks get so much good news. We have some good news to discuss. Starting with the NBA Draft. The Knicks made two selections in the NBA Draft. A guard and a forward. And now it looks like they'll be saving money on both of those additions. According to Jared Swartz, an NBA insider with the New York Post, he states the following. Jack Kayil and Tyler Nickel should command less money at or closer to the rookie minimum than anyone they would have selected at pick number 31
They could even potentially be signed to two-way deals. And with two-way contracts, they don't touch your cap at all. This is why New York ended up drafting both of these players. However, this news gets even better when you take a deeper look at the guard they drafted, Jack Kayil. This kid, he's a winner. Shout out to SNY for giving us this following information. According to them, the Knicks select German guard, Jack Kayil, with the 39th pick in the NBA draft. Kayil successfully led his team, Alba Berlin, to the German basketball championship in 2026, before being selected by the New York Knicks in the second round of the 2026 NBA draft. His remarkable championship run included several major accomplishments. As Alba Berlin's starting point guard, he led his team past Beyernen to capture the German league title. His performance earned him widespread recognition, including basketball best young player award, and the basketball championships league best young player award. Prior to the club season, Kayil also led the German U-19 team to a silver medal at the 2025 FIBA U-19 World Cup. Now, I gotta be honest. When they initially drafted this kid, I was not happy with this selection. However, I did a little bit more research on this kid, and I found out, not only is he a winner on every single level, his story reminds me a lot of Jalen Brunson, a player that continues to win, no matter what environment that he's in, and when he's doubted, he proves everyone wrong. And even though I still think he's a project, and he needs a lot of development, I still think he has a lot of upside, and I fully understand why New York drafted this kid. They want to see what he can do. They like the way he runs in offense. He's a floor general, and he's probably gonna play most of his time next season with the Westchester Knicks. That means he's going to have a golden opportunity to run his own team and see what he can do at that level. And if he does really well, you never know. Maybe his development fast-tracks, and he's able to contribute to the Knicks a lot sooner than anybody thought. But as of right now, I have high hopes for this kid. I believe he is going to be a significant piece for New York moving forward.
Shout out to New York Basketball on The AppX for giving us this following information. According to them, WHSV asked Tyler Nickel how he feels about being drafted to New York. And he said the following, It doesn't even sound real. He also said in that interview that he's hype, he's excited, and he wants to show everyone, be an example from Rockingham County, that no matter where you play basketball, if you work hard, you can make your dreams come true. And for him, he wanted to play with the Knicks. And his dream just came true. This is even more good news. Why? Because both of these draft selections want to be here in New York.
