We have a major trade update. The Knicks want Pacome Dadiet to perform extremely well during Summer League because that could help his trade value increase. We're going to break down all of these latest reports today.

Major Trade Update It's no secret that The Knicks have been looking to make a trade to add another center to this team, to increase their depth at the center position. And one of their major trade pieces on the table right now is Pacome Dadiet. Take a look at what NBA insider with the New York Daily News, Christian Winfield, had to say about the situation. According to him, The Knicks are in more dire need at the 5 after losing Mitchell Robinson and only having Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond at the center position on the team. Pacome Dadiet can be included in a trade to a team that has minutes available, and hopefully that team will want to send New York a young and up-and-coming center.
And Sports Illustrated just confirmed this is the main reason that the Knicks have Pacome Dadiet playing in the Summer League. Take a look at these updates. Shout out to Sports Illustrated for giving us this following information. According to them, a strong Summer League for Pacome Dadiet would help the Knicks on the trade front. According to them, any Dadiet trade hopes fall flat though if he doesn't perform at the Summer League, right now, he's just not that attractive with little to show for his first two NBA seasons. So even if he was attached with potentially multiple second round picks, no team is really going to feel like helping New York by taking him back in a deal and or sending an impactful center out as well. But if Dadiet goes on to be a star in Las Vegas, he's going to drum up actual interest. Other franchises could then feel like they're getting a good deal if he's part of a swap, making them more willing to agree if the defending champs come calling. Not only that, but SI also confirmed that New York has the most incentive right now to trade Pacome Dadiet.
According to Sports Illustrated, Pacome Dadiet becoming a better trade ship would be quietly huge for New York. Right now, he's the player the team has the most reason to move in a deal. Between his padded salary of $2.98 million contract for the upcoming season, and then the season after that, he's supposed to make near $6 million, and the fact that he doesn't appear to be a great fit compared to other youth on the team, that's why right now, New York is looking to trade him.
However, if Pacome Dadiet and a few second-round picks are not enough to get a trade done, the New York Knicks may need to add another player to the deal, and the only other player I've heard mentioned around NBA circles at this point is Miles McBride. Take a look at this update. According to Sports Illustrated, the Knicks could use Pacome Dadiet's salary on their own, or pair it with another player, like Miles McBride, to target a more premium backup center. That is the best and most realistic avenue the team has to finding a truly impactful addition to the front court while navigating the second apron.
I would not want to lose Miles McBride, and if the Knicks wanted to bring him back, they should extend him right now on a very good deal and then go ahead and do that. But if they're not going to bring back Miles McBride, if they're going to lose him for nothing in free agency, that doesn't make sense either. And that goes against a lot of what the Knicks normally do. With Emmanuel Quikley and Julius Randall, when they could not get a deal done, they traded those players. And Miles McBride, he may be on the trade front too for New York. Because if the Knicks are not going to pay him, why not use him in a deal to get another center on this team? If Pacome Dadiet by himself, with a few second round picks, is not enough to get a trade done, and you have to trade Deuce McBride anyways, because you're not going to pay him, then maybe that's the deal that you make. I don't want to see Miles McBride traded from this team. I actually believe he's going to have a very strong season this upcoming season for the Knicks. Not only because he's in a contract year, but also, I believe he's going to be healthier entering next season, than he was this past season. And the only name I've heard regarding a trade being made for another center, is only one name at this point. And this player is with the Charlotte Hornets right now. Musa Diabate. After Yves Missy and that failure of a trade where New York was rejected multiple times, other than him, the only other person I've heard New York wanting to trade for is Musa Diabate.
