The Knicks are monitoring Moussa Diabate trade. The Knicks are still looking to add more center depth to the team, even after signing Andre Drummond. They are looking at the trade market, and one name continues to come up. This center from Charlotte. Take a look. According to the Stein Line, French center Moussa Diabate was on the Knicks radar before they decided to sign Andre Drummond. According to Mark Stein, New York expressed interest in veteran center Kevon Looney, while also monitoring Charlotte's high energy, Moussa Diabate. Yet, the Knicks ultimately landed on Drummond, who ironically chose the Lakers over the Knicks late in 2020-2021 after being bought out by the Cavs. However, New York is still looking for more insurance behind Karl-Anthony Towns. That means they're looking to add another center, even though they just signed Andre Drummond.

The Knicks were monitoring the status of Charlotte Hornet Center Moussa Diabate, who is only making 2.4 million after winning the NBA Hustle Award last season. Diabate was a bright spot for Charlotte last season, bursting onto the scene, earning a starting role and averaging 7.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1 block per game. Diabate also finished among the league leaders in offensive rebounds, averaging 3.7 per game. Looking ahead to next year, Diabate could possibly average a double-double for the Hornets if he's able to add more polish to his offensive game.
Even after signing Andre Drummond, New York has been linked to a number of centers, Jonas Valanciunas, Kevon Looney, and without a doubt, they are still looking at the trade market, still looking at Moussa Diabate, and seeing what trade package they could offer the Hornets in order to get them on this team. Because let's face it, they're still looking to add more depth at the center position, and if you were wondering who New York could possibly trade in order to get Diabate on this team, we have that information for you. Moving him would free Rose up to add another center of significance to pair with Andre Drummond and Karl-Anthony Towns as centers on this team, after Mitchell Robinson was lost to the Boston Celtics in free agency. So Pacome Dadiet is the trade piece. New York has no problem in moving to try to add more center depth to this team. Now I know what you're thinking. If Dadiet is part of the trade, then what is the full trade package New York is likely trying to move? We have some information on that too. Shout out to Posting and Toasting for giving us this following information. According to them, going after Diabate gets even more appealing when looking at his $2.5 million salary for next season. The Knicks can match that by sending out Pacome Dadiet's $3 million, could be an expiring contract because he has a team option for next season and draft compensation, likely multiple second round picks. And if the Hornets are going to accept that without a doubt, New York will pull the trigger and they will trade for Diabate to have him part of this team and adding to their center depth. If the Knicks are still looking at center options, if they're still looking at Jonas Valanciunas, Kevon Looney, without a doubt, I know that Leon Rose is still looking at the trade market and looking to trade for Moussa Diabate, because if they were interested before, if they were monitoring him before, there's no doubt in my mind that they're still doing that again. And honestly, I love this move. I would love this trade if it's only Dadiet and a few second round picks in order to get a player like Moussa Diabate. Let's face it.
