"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change." -Wayne Dyer In this message, Pastor David shows us that perspective is everything.  Perspective is the way you see things; your vision. The way we look at something, our perspective, creates or dictates our attitude.
Speakers: Kevin, David Gabbau

Thank you for tuning in to the New Vision Podcast. Our prayer is that this talk builds your faith, brings clarity and gives you hope. Enjoy the message.

If we haven't got the opportunity to meet, my name is Kevin and my wife Mel and I, we are privileged and honored to lead here at New Vision. I wanna say thank you for joining us today, for being present in the room and online. We are so grateful that you took time to spend with us today. And before we get to the message portion, I just want to shout out my daughter who graduated this last Friday night. Like, it doesn't seem possible.
Yeah, it's wild. Like, it was, and some of you have already know, like you've talked to me and it was tough. I did cry, but Mel cried more. So we'll just wrap all those up together. I'm so emotional, so proud of her, and it's so crazy that she's graduated.

And because she graduated, we had family in town.

And so I invited my father-in-law to come and be a part of this series that we're in, the 40 Days with Jesus. So he's going to continue that here in a moment before he comes. I just want to encourage you to show up Wednesday, like the Kids vs. the Adults Kickball Game to help with camp. Please show up.
If not, like D. Chris just ran a 5K. He can't keep going around the bases. Every time he kicks a home run, we need to have some points on the board for us to defeat the students this year. We do want to do our very best to send our students to camp. Our goal this year between Kids and Youth Camp is to raise $5,000 to help them go to camp, to alleviate the cost of camp, to make sure that that's not a reason why people don't send their students to camp. So help us to do that. You can join in on the fundraisers that are happening. You can mark camp scholarship on your giving envelope or your Tithely app as you give today. But we do want to see God do some incredible things in our students here at the church. So be a part of that. And without further ado, my father, David Gabbau.
All right, just so you know, I brought a little Jesus with me and he's watching you as this sermon goes forward. So it is a pleasure, always a pleasure to be here and always a privilege to get to speak. And in case you maybe it is your first time, you're a guest here that I'm gonna say the same thing I said in the first service is make sure to come back because you need to hear our pastor speak. If you want to hear the heart of this house, you need to hear his heart. And hopefully you hear that today because he and I like share a heart in a lot of ways and very similar. But yeah, so please come back. And also if you a little bit maybe new around here, you might know his daughter, he said graduated, but you might not know exactly who that is. He takes that for granted, but it's the young lady who was leading worship or part of the worship team and leading from the guitar over here. The crazy thing is we, my wife and I, left Kansas City three months before she was born. And now she's almost 18 years old. And I remember so vividly like it was yesterday holding Alexa's mom as an infant and as a toddler. And then, so I want to say to you, especially if you are 30 years old, maybe like 30 to 50 years old, do not blink because in all seriousness, it just you'll be 64 in a blink of time. And I don't mind that. I love being my age. I love being older. I said this before from this pulpit, like you will, you have to look a long way and around a big area to find a richer person than I am. And I say that, don't have all the money in the world by a long shot, but just the riches that I have, the foundation of those riches, beautiful, beautiful wife that is so, loves me so much, been so faithful, such a rock in my life. I mean, what else am I going to say? Like, Kevin Brown is my son-in-law.
Like, how rich, how rich is that? And as I'm saying that, part of the richness and one of the most rich times of my life was spent here in Kansas City for about 10 years. I was serving on staff at a church and got to serve in youth ministry. And some of those kids are here today, some from as far away as Seattle. They didn't come to see me, but they're here in town. So while I'm here, they come to see me. But why don't you three stand up? I see Michael Harris here also somewhere. Where's my? This is my friend and son, Michael Davis. Jesse and Jennifer, my two non-biological daughters. And is Michael Harris in here? He left already. He heard I was preaching, huh?
