I mean, it's kind of a typical 2nd Date Update. You thought your first date with Kevin was awesome.

Yeah.

Yeah, exactly. Kevin and I had a really good first date, you know, like good enough that before the night was even over, we were already, you know, talking about doing it again.

Amanda (0:26)

That's a good sign.

Kayla (0:27)

And so, yeah, we were making plans for a 2nd date, and everything was completely normal, and then he slow ghosted me.

Amanda (0:36)

We hear this too often, the slow ghost.

TJ (0:37)

Okay. So are you talking to him at all or?

Kayla (0:40)

Yeah, I texted him. I texted him last week asking if he wanted to hang out, and he said, I don't think so. Ah, okay. And then that's the last text he responded to.

So I don't understand how we went from, you know, having another date, you know, 99% planned, and now he's just over it.

TJ (1:00)

Amanda (1:00)

Something happened, apparently.

We will get Kevin on the phone and find out what his deal is, apparently. And hopefully, I don't know, it's a misunderstanding, you guys can go out again, okay?

From what we understand, you and Kayla had a first date, you were talking about a 2nd date. She told us it was 99% planned, and then you kind of flaked out and slow ghosted her.

Kevin (1:31)

Yeah, she basically changed the plans. We were supposed to go out again, but she decided to at the last minute because her best friend needed her all of a sudden.

Amanda (1:44)

So you couldn't pick another date?

TJ (1:46)

You're not cool with that?

Kevin (1:48)

That was it? We picked a date to go out, and I'm all set, and all of a sudden, well, you know what? My best friend needs me for some reason, and I got to go. I mean, you can call your best friend anytime.

Amanda (2:03)

Or go out on a date with you anytime.

Kevin (2:06)

I mean, call her anytime. Let's go. Let's go out. Call her anytime. Call her from the date. If anything's terribly wrong, then we'll take a look at it.

She's my best friend, and she needed me.

I mean, she just had a bad day at work, and she needed me.

I mean, it was just dinner with you. Like, we can have dinner another night.

So our plans didn't matter because something else came up. That's basically the gist of this.

Because I've known this dude for 14 seconds, and I've known my best friend for 20 years. So as of now, she takes precedence. That's just the way it is. It might change later on.

Kevin (3:35)
